Even if russia said it would pull out tomorrow, there is a long journey with war crimes and reparations. It would also need to rescind the annexation of Ukrainian territory’s which would be a hard sell domestically. This will be resolved on the battlefield.

Maybe a more recent bit of history should concern you if you are into human rights and freedom, the torture chambers and beatings doled out to normal civilian Ukrainians as well as the executions. Something that happens in the last year has immeasurable more weight than something that happened in WW2.

Swag, what choice do they have? They are fighting in their own towns and villages. If westerns weapons stopped it would become more of a gorilla style fight, but they wont stop coming.
Russia has to weigh up the loss of equipment and manufacturing capacity as loss of personnel doesn’t seem to be something they much care about. Take stocks too low and homeland security becomes a major concern with so many areas they have taken. The Chinese might like some of their old turf back!
