Beware of the leccie, an apprentice at my college dropped a tool down the back of a live 3 phase switchboard. Thinking he'd like it back he put his arm down the back to recover it. Caught the first exposed bar convulsing his arm onto the second live bar. 415v and stuck, he was lucky to survive. We called him stumpy after he came back, you can guess why.

The engineering involved in making a lightweight aluminium or composite tube do 800Km/h and 45000 feet in up to minus -75 degrees celsius and get a full load of pax at off the runway in Dubai at 570 tonnes is staggering. Everyday the engineers at Boeing, Airbus and smaller companies are working the engineering and economics to improve on the competition. Makes making a fuel cell first developed in 1883 seem simple and they aren't even commercial yet...

We're more on the same page than not BB, problem is most people have zero idea the technology behind modern aircraft and the strive to drive down operating cost the largest of which is fuel.
Reduce the fuel burn and emissions are improved. A380 production stopping due to fuel burn but is one of the most comfortable aircraft to fly on. A350 is composite fuselage to save weight. Its already happening driven by airline economics.
Aircraft being speed controlled as much as 250 Nm away from heathrow or queuing to take off isn't green either.
1.4billion cars in the world 39000 commercial airliners. Airlines fly mostly 85-97% full and cars mainly 25%. As i said, low hanging fruit.

Not sure a high pressure gas is suitable for aviation. Get a fuel leak in JetA1 aircraft it takes time to escape. Gas, It'll be gone in a flash.

The green brigade need to stop focussing on aviation which have some of the most advanced engine technology with little option to replace currently and focus on other areas that could make a much bigger impression of Co2 and climate change.
How many of us have solar pv and thermal? Has the government mandated all new homes to have solar. EV seems the only area the gov are looking except the misguided boiler regs for heat pumps. (Although borehole type may work).
And how many buy plastic crap from china we throw away or never use?

As for strategic investment, they would want their slice of the pie and at the moment, i don't think investors would be best served by dilution. I'm sure thats why the Thalion facility remains unused. It does give a financial safety net tho.

I think AB may also have had to change thinking about private investors as the large holders are/have sold/selling off and Schroaders have been seen to be trading. The private investors represent a fairly stable and supportive group.
There have been quite a few increasing their holding while only a few have told me they have sold.
