It looks like another Golden Eagle would be best, but that would be expensive with high Brent.

Good to see Kwasi Kwarteng getting on with the business of promoting hydrogen production going for 9 billion of investment funding up to 2030.
If the North Sea Oil industry plays its part it can get a significant portion of that funding as they embrace renewables. Also it will enable them to side step the windfall tax.

I think the current situation calls for objectivity - its useful to hear the minus points and debate them - these boards often turn into a rampers paradise without regard to the downside.

Personally, I agree with you that this is a hold situation or a time to start buying for a long term hold but it is far from clear when the macro will improve.

Its only a 100/1 gamble if you don't make the right choice.

Sure things are bad but don't forget that markets look ahead, as soon as they see a turning point share prices will turn positive - that will be before the worst impacts are felt in the real world.

Barclays continue to give MKS an overweight rating and a price target of 215p - they are clearly expecting a good bounce.

If you are sitting on cash it may be soon be time to start a slow coordinated return to the market.

I think that tech shares are the most oversold and have the furthest to bounce back, its probably worth watching the NASDAQ very closely over the next six months or so.

In the past tech shares have been the markets darlings, my expectation is that they will be again and that we will see then start to surge by Christmas

Its nice to see that Barclays continues to give MKS an overweight rating with a healthy price target of 215P.

Most of us who comment on this board, with one notable exception, believe that MKS has a bright future and its very encouraging that Barclays agree.

All we need now is for the macro to start to turn positive.
