SN is still playing tanker tease - she is now drifting 17 miles to the east of AK - we are now 10 days from when NO departed with load 57 - the weather is set fine.
Meanwhile in the North Sea it is still unclear if SN has hooked up - it looked like she was moving round for a hook up from the south east or east but AIS is still poor - simply not picking anything up that is moving at less than about 5 knots.
Yes, we would certainly be in the running for the 250 if we joined the main market - we are not that far off the automatic entry point for main market listings. It will be interesting to see if the board make any comment on switching over the coming months.
The thing is though that the success of the project has always been based on it being high profile and gaining acceptance from the locals - right through from the planning stages.
There is no way that CF could have taken the project forward to the level he did without being very high profile and very positive.
The side product of this was that local people - and investors from around the country - got hooked and wanted a piece of the action - I know I did and I live in Sussex.
Can we blame CF for the way things have ended up - unless there proves to have been some sort of conspiracy as has been suggested by some - was he not simply doing his job and giving everything for a successful outcome?
That looks about right to me - a low free float is great news for the SP - more to come yet I think - I don't detect a large number of traders present here - just long term holders with very sticky fingers.
The trouble with shale producers is that there are simply too many of them - they are all fighting one another for market share and financial survival - that doesn't make any sort of restraint possible.
I guess as more producers fall by the wayside and the big boys take over we could see a more mature market developing and then they might start matching supply and demand - maybe?
However that didn't happen in California circa 1849-1855 - it just faded away - maybe the same thing will happen this decade sometime.
The last AIS fix was nearly 3 hours ago with SN just 22 nautical miles south west of AK - no idea if we have a hook up yet - balance of probability is that SN is just drifting about waiting for first light tomorrow.
SN is now just 52 nautical miles south west of AK - she is travelling at 15 knots - so maybe there is some urgency for a hook up today - AIS is very poor so we may not be able to track the action as she closes in.
I have been in a similar position to this before - although the circumstances were very different.
In this case the company was doing exceptionally well but there was a disinformation campaign that crashed the SP followed by a period of volatility and the end result of that was that the company was taken private with all the Directors keeping their jobs. There was only one the one bid, it gave shareholders a reasonable premium but the company was on the verge of a massive rise in revenue and the SP had been held back.
The end result of all this was that absolutely nothing happened because as soon as the company went private it was a fait accompli and everyone moved on - lesson learned.
