Its a basic lack of insight that many investors have when they buy growth shares - they buy because of the potential the company has, but when the results come in reflecting the previous trading period they cannot see the potential, so they sell.
Even the discounters are now starting to react to the growth in online. This is an excellent move by Aldi and probably about as far as they can go at their reduced margins. It offers their customer base the chance to shop online without the higher prices of the big four. Its yet more bad news for the big four because it will certainly impact on their sales.
This report has great significance for investors here - simply because it brings forward the date when the AstraZeneca vaccine is likely to become available - all the vaccines that have gone through stage two are effective, including the AstraZeneca vaccine, stage three is all about proving they are safe - with this deal the EU will take most of the risk away from AstraZeneca.
The assets on offer don't look very exiting unless their is some hidden gem - maybe Rochelle has more to offer, its a much newer field, 30km away from Scott, possible use for EP??? - other than that no.
Big hurdle removed for AstraZenica vaccine in EU.26 Sep 2020 23:10
With the stage three trial progressing in Europe we may be closer to a vaccine than a lot of commentators dared hope. This clears the way for an early release in EU states.
The trials are probably proceeding at full speed anyway - the only way to speed them up would be challenger trials, that would prove efficiency and safety much quicker - enrol say 10,000 young adults in isolation centres around the world - give them the jab, expose them to Covid - answers in no time.
I can see the logic of John Moulton's view but if the politicians act to fast - as Putin may have done in Russia, although even he now seems to be waiting for results from their stage 3 trial - we could create at the very least a undermining in public confidence regarding vaccines and in the worst case a public health emergency if the vaccine had bad side effects.
A balance has to be reached, I think that the Chief Medical Officers have to first give their approval, then the politicians can actually make the decision to proceed with the vaccination program.
RE: What's your MKS price target now?26 Sep 2020 10:56
Yes, lasts weeks fall was certainly induced by the shorts - we should see a big rebound over the next few weeks but we have some way to go before we reach the turning point - that will be when the vaccine is deemed safe and health workers, elderly and vulnerable groups start to be immunised.
The STS is complete and this load is on its way to Rotterdam on the KMARIN RELIANCE. It will be interesting to see which part of the port it goes to - bunkering depot or refinery - or maybe another STS for an onward journey.
romaron The Oxford/Astra-Zeneca stage 3 trial is well underway, they have recruited in the UK, US and South America - how long it will take will depend on results - it relies on a portion of the recruits catching Corvid.
There is talk of a challenger trial - give the vaccine to the recruit then infect them with Corvid - much quicker.
I guess its up to the authorities re. blood tests for a year etc - presumably if it was up to Trump no extra safety testing would be necessary.
RE: What's your MKS price target now?25 Sep 2020 09:41
Price targets are all null and void at the moment - it will be a point in time when a vaccine becomes available that signifies the change - basically from a bear market to a bull market.
Most investors have now made their choices and are waiting patiently for that point in time - some have decided to sit on cash others have trawled the market for bargains - some have ridden out the storm with good profits.
The main thing is to have a clear strategy and stick to it - chopping and changing never works.
Boris is backing renewables including green hydrogen for buses, lorries, shipping etc. He seems to have made the link between wind power and green hydrogen production - a major leap forward!!!
Yes, certainly no evidence but 5 reductions in quick succession is often a good indication that the account is closing - we shall see over the next few days or so.
