An interim dividend for last year was declared on the 28 February within the half yearly report. I expect news of any interim dividend for this year to be declared within the next half yearly report, probably at the end of the month. We may need to wait until then to have anymore positive news and reaction. TRCS seems to be stuck in a trading range of between the low 150s and the mid 160s with jumps either way of 6 or 7p or more for no apparent reason. Fundamentals still good. Any share price rise may be being held back until the outcome of the Brown review determining how and when rail franchising activity returns to normal as per trading update. "A great pipeline of acquisiton prospects" sounds positive; any acquisition has the potential to boost the share price and hopefully take it into a higher trading range of over 170p. Regards CM

Rather a disappointing day to see this fall back. The share price only fell back late in the day. Still confident. There seems to be a glass ceiling preventing progress into the high 90s and then to crack 100p. A definite resistance level. This isn't unusual for any share. I have invested based on the fundamentals and don't see anything has changed on that basis. Sometimes we need to be patient to be rewarded; I have seen this a no. of times but it is frustrating, especially when the general market is seemingly making progress. The shares which I invested in because of the fundamentals were right and then sold out of because of a retrace have all recovered and now trade higher than what I sold out at; I need to remember that. A retrace in the sp for a company with GBG fundamentals tends only to be temporary. Regards CM

Good report on GBG in Daily Mail on Sunday in the Midas column (update). Very positive. Suggested for those who had been in since first recommended at 23p they should think about selling between 1/3 and 1/4 of their holdings to lock in profits, yet those who aren't invested to give it serious consideration. Any reports in the press such as the above can have quite an effect on the next days trading. It will be interesting to see what if anything will happen tomorrow. Regards CM

I received a reply to my e-mail sent to GBG on Tuesday. The reply was received on the same day as the RNS was released. It read the following Dear ............. I can confirm that a trading update was released at 7 a.m this morning................ Please also note we have taken the opportunity to inform the market of when future scheduled announcements will be made. Best wishes and thank you for your continuing support. John Constantin Very good of him to take the effort to reply, especially as a RNS was being released anyway. Sign of a good company and their view of the importance of investor relations. Concur with your thoughts about where the focus was from last set of results. Market will always look to concentrate on any negatives, however justified or not, which can mean it takes longer to recover to a more realistic sp. I'll take a blue day anyday. Too early to say we have bottomed, but if not then there may be a buying opportunity. Like you, I see no reason to buy especially right now; lets see how things go. Good luck Regards CM

RNS out this morning "The Board anticipates that the results for the year ending 31 March 2013 will be in line with market expectations." Hmm, won't set the market alight, just have to wait to see if there is any market reaction, one way or the other. Regards CM

I am of the same opinion as you D for the same reasons. If not this week then I would expect it next week. I have e-mailed John Constantin, Company Secretary, yesterday asking when the next trading statement would be issued. I have had no reply today. Having e-mailed him previously and having had a reply I do expect an answer within a day or two. I will keep you informed. Of course a statement may be issued before any reply. Additionally there is no further news on the GBG website. I keep an eye on that too and again, if there is anything on there I will post it here. Regards CM

Good evening Bigtosh, welcome to the board. Thanks for your post. Great to have you onboard. I thought I would be taking time off here with no one to post to now that my mate GG has decided to take time out; time to go out into the garden and look for the fish in the pond and talk to them in the rain. But.......no, good. Don't feel so lonely now!. Interested to know you have been invested in GBG for some years. That will have given you a good return. Would be interested to know what industry you work in/have worked in. I have been invested in GBG for around a year, initially at around 58p, but topping up in low 60s, building quite an investment for me. I sold most of my shares at around 101p, but bought most of them back at around 98-99p, just couldn't let go of something I felt was going to be good and had further to rise; still my feeling. There aren't many companys out there which have as strong a set of fundamentals tht GBG have. It's been a disappointing time since mid November when GBG hit its' year high. It encountered resistance once it hit 100p but I had felt recently that it would be retested again. Again it came across that resistance and has now fallen back to test its' support level at around 90p, or high 80s. This isn't uncommon for any share, forming a trading range. The story hasn't changed as far as I can see and as such is there any reason for changing our opinion of the company on the back of a fall in the sp. I have seen this often with other holdings I have had and in my inexperience previously chose to sell out only to regret it later. Revenue is rising, along with overall profit, P/E and PEG is low, EPS is rising, operating margin is up and the ROCE is very good, and the company is cash generative. Plus a dividend is paid which may well be increased. There is good institutional backing and directors have a reasonable holding. There should be a trading update very shortly. I have not received a reply to yesterdays e-mail yet but will keep you up to date on anything sent. Hello GG. I completely understand your situation and why you sold, I don' t blame you. We all invest for a reason, mostly for capital gain. No good having the investment if we are never going to use it at some time with profits (we hope). We have both said that selling is always the hardest part. I too have become very fond of this share (not a good idea), and saying goodbye to it is like saying goodbye to a friend. There should be a RNS very shortly; infact I may send an e-mail after this to the company to check when it is due. There is no guarantee that the RNS will push the sp up; unfortunately I had hoped the sp would be in the mid 90s at least by the time it came out to take it back to at least the high 90s and where I had bought back in. We'll see. I still see this as being a positive investment overall, although no share rises without some retrace. I have learnt (tried to learn) a valuable lesson from GBO, that the fundamentals (should) will eventually come to the top; I see no reason why GBG should be any different. I just don't want to go through the pain with GBG as GBO. It hasn't been a good day for my shares, bar GBO which came to some degree of rescue. TRCS, NET, GTC were all down, yet all their fundamentals are good. Seems strange that GBO has been the hero. I too can see a mkt. correction; I think it has got over valued on both sides of the Pond. GG, just because you are no longer invested in GBG please feel you can still post on here. It is going to be SO quiet here without you. I will definitely be posting far less. With respect, be careful of following barchart and british bulls. Barchart and Britishbulls are contradicting each other. Both use very short term trading patterns and can and will change accordingly. Give it another week and things may be different. If we had used them for GBO we would have sold out time and time again. Britishbulls is ok for trading rather than investing. I have spent so much time studying charts, candlesticks etc. and it made me no better an investor; infact it made me more of a fidget, never resting. For me now, it is the fundamentals that count and the trading updates with the outlook and Chairmans comments. Using the criteria in Jim Slater's book The Zulu Principle has transformed my performance far more than studying charts. However, I will never put anyone down for looking at charts, they can be very useful, especially in establishing a trend. I have little funds left now, having invested more in GBO and some in GTC. Glad I made you smile. I think I was probably saying what many others had been close to doing themselves which possibly made it funnier. Another classic for me was when we had a new tv where I was working. It was the first remote t.v we had and I knew nothing about them. I was told to change channel and volume I had to tell the t.v to change by going up to it (not realising there was a remote control). Yeah right!. However.........one of my colleagues walked up to the t.v and said "2" and low and behold it changed to BBC2. "3" and it changed to ITV. "lounder" and the sound increased!. What I didn't know was my other colleague in the room without me seeing was pointing the control at the t.v at the time so it did change to what was being said. They then hid the remote and went off to work, from which I had just finished, telling me that when I had finished with the t.v all I needed to do was say "off". Errr, hmm, yes.....you've guessed it!. It didn't matter how many times I said "1", "2", "louder" or what, it took no notice of me!. Fed up with it I said "off!", nothing!, not even a flicker!. "OFF!",...."OFF!" ... nothing. Meanwhile................2 faces were peering around the door, trying their best not to laugh!. What a plonker!. What chance is there for me eh?. We all have bad days GG, you, me, all of us. Unfortunately it comes with the territory of investing. I've had some real stinkers. I was so far down at one time I didn't think I could ever make it back to break even nevermind profit. Those were tough times. Somehow even when one of our share goes up unless it counters the one that goes down then it seems only a hollow victory. So, what are you going to do?. Don't fall into the trap of feeling that you are trapped into keeping any of your shares. Remember any share can get cheaper as any share can get more expensive. Don't get too attached. I know, I know, I know you probably feel the moment you sell any share then it will be the very time it will turn and head back up, that is a chance we take but not a reason to hold on. Would you feel better if you sold some of your shares?. None of my business of course. I can't give you advice, or rather I am reluctant to because I don't know your situation. However I can listen to you. I know how you must be feeling because I have been there myself. Sometimes we just need someone to talk/moan to. I'm here. Another thing GG, and this is important. Don't doubt your judgement on the back of a bad investment. From your posts I can see you are a far better investor than most who post. Don't give up or you will never know how close to success you were. Yes, we live to fight another day. Take it easy my friend, try not to dwell on it too much. Thanks for the post Jange. Had I been up earlier on my day off I may have been able to buy into GTC at a better price. GTC has been on a carefully selected short watchlist. By the time I had read the RNS the sp had jumped to 67p to buy. It even went to over 70p to buy, so I held back, managing to buy in for 63.75p. Not a huge investment, anything but, prefering to buy in in stages so that I am not too highly exposed if things turn tail. This is a quiet board, usually a good sign. Regards all CM
