I don't usually invest in a company immediately before results, preferring to wait. If the results are good then I can invest into strength, if they are bad then I can keep my powder dry so to speak. Because of the research I had done beforehand I made an exception with INCA believing the results would be reasonable. Doesn't look like the market took them that way, and on the face of the results were disappointing, but not a disaster. I wonder what effect the slower growth in some parts will have on full year results?. At least there was a RNS immediately on the heels of the initial RNS which mentioned about a new contract win. I was surprised at the extent of the fall this morning. Every time I looked at the share price it had fallen further. I was unable to contact my broker to get a live price which possibly was as well since there was some rebound later in the morning before the price settled down. Maybe tomorrow will be a more settled day before a slow climb back..........maybe!. I too can not quite understand why the earnings are seasonal, are dealers busier at one time of the year than another?, perhaps they are. Thanks for the welcome. I am not expecting fireworks here, nor am I that kind of investor. It would be nice to have another share which I can rest easier with and not lose sleep over. Hello GG, thanks for the post. As always good to hear from you. What made me invest in COMS?, I don't know, maybe it was down to a lack of chocolate affecting the old gray cells, or possibly too much (if that is possible!). Yes, I think I allowed myself to be human and flirt with temptation as you put it very well. I think the Yoda in me sleeping he was!. At the time I think my reasoning was that the company looked promising with it starting to make profits, a turn around story. However, it did remind me a little of QPP with a CEO using twitter, emphasis on the first 4 letters. Investors believed the CEO was a mate of theirs; sorry a serious CEO doesn't allow themselves to be put in that sort of position. I remember your posts about investing in such and such for no better reason than the company was based in Cambridge, lol!; although on reflection that was probably a better reason than many investors logic. One of mine was the companys' ticker had the same letters as my initials!, ha, ha. Actually that one was a good company and did meet the Zulu Principle. I no longer hold shares in the company having sold out after a profit warning (in disguise) and took a relatively small profit. Perhaps I should invest in Cupid because it rhymes with Stupid. Re ramping, well, COMS was getting through to me in that respect. Some real crack pots. I am of the opinion that it is better to say nothing and let people think you are a fool, than say something and have it confirmed!. I better shut up then hadn't I!. Yes, my bike is special GG, well it is to me. Not the one I cycled across the U.S on. I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms at present. Sure my cold is down to lack of getting wet cycling home in gale force winds etc. TCM?, err, gosh, no I didn't invest there. Can't remember why. Another Zulu stock that has out performed. Does seem to be something in the old Zulu Principle. Can't invest in everything of course. Still others on my list. Patience is key. GBG is going well again. They release very little news as RNS, but I regularly check their website and find choice morsels of valuable info. It is good to have posters like Bigtosh on the board to share info with. We discussed the chance of £1.20 by the end of the year which looks very likely now. The fundamentals remain good and is still worthy of consideration to invest in. I have moved some funds over into my SVS account to invest (or not) in Royal Mail. Very tempting if for the only reason being I can't believe the Govt. would allow it to fail. Good evening folks. I have had INCA on my watchlist for a couple of months after reading about it in GCI, see article below. Today I took a position in it. I am not expecting a fast buck but something along the lines of my investment in TRCS would be more than welcome. I don't rely on any publication in particular but I do use GCI a good deal, to back up my research or to start it. It has been very useful on a number of occasions previously. I like the fact that this bb is quiet. It is often a good indication of the quality of the share and tends to be free of rampers and derampers who know little but say a lot. Lets hope the interim results to be released on Monday will be good. Despite todays poor showing for the share price, my comments from yesterday still stand. The fact that the dividend has been proposed to be raised by as much as 40% gives an indication to the confidence the board of NET has for the future. A number of us on this board are invested in GBO so we know all to well how despite excellent results the frustration there can be when we don't see the positive movement in the share price that we would expect. The market doesn't always work logically; but in the longer term, based on the fundamentals the cream usually comes to the surface. Time and patience. "Not a good day at the office" on the face of it. I can see no logical explanation for the fall back. The RNS stating there has been an issue of equity of 1,859,296 shares shouldn't have had such an effect on the share price considering there are now 409,729,735 in issue since that equates to less than 0.05%. So what else could have effected it?, nothing share specific that I can see. News out from the Labour Party annual conference is that they intend to freeze price increases for gas and electricity for 20 months should they win the next election, but, firstly that was disclosed this afternoon well after the share price had fallen back; or had the market got wind of it in advance; possibly. Would that effect the profitability of INSE, not necessarily; companies will still be looking around for the best deal (if I have understood the companys' business model correctly, possibly not). The next general election is some 18 months away, plenty of time for things to change. How likely is Labour to win an outright majority?, at present imo unlikely. So, let us look at some figures from the last trading update issued on 19 August, 6 months endng 30 June 2013. Revenue up 65% EBITDA up 49% Corporate order book up 18% Combined order book up 25% Maiden interim dividend declared Cashflow up over 200% RNS 21 August Bob Holt, Chairman buys 229,167 shares at 8p each. Number of trades today, 24 September: 8 Number of shares traded: 93,098 So, volume would not appear to be a reason for the fall; no sizeable sales, no panic selling. Looking at the fundamentals for INSE for results year ending 31 December 2012: Operating Margin 22.3% ROCE 176.53% Dividend cover 4.36 Dividend yield 2.5% PE 9.1% PEG 0.1 Excellent figures. The positive statements and figures from the results RNS are the reasons behind my investment decision as given in my previous post. I am not sure if the market makers were trying a "tree shake" today; they failed if they were trying. This MAY have opened up a buying opportunity, but I for one will await a rebound in the share price before deciding whether to invest further. We will see what tomorrow will bring, but the fundamentals for INSE are very strong and the share price didn't fall back further from mid morning. The likelihood is that the share has been oversold. Good evening folks. Ups1de, you are too kind!, I am not an expert on this nor any other share. However, I have been invested for a reasonable time. This share is a boring share in a boring sector. That is not a bad thing. Sometimes, many a time, the best returns (over time) can be in such shares - "how to make extraordinary profits from ordinary shares" is what Jim Slater would state about it imo. Lets look at some figures from the results: Revenue up 10% EBITDA up 22% EPS up 25% Div. 0.7p up 40% Cash generated up 25% Profit before tax up 10% Basic EPS up 11% Debt free The latest PE, PEG and EPS I have seen from Digitallook.com are 15.9, 0.6 and 2.56 respectively. The figures are pretty good for any company. Although the figures are good they haven't set the market on fire, maybe the market was expecting more (as it often does), maybe it just isn't interested enough on the volume traded to push the price higher, despite showing interest first thing. i would have been surprised to have seen the share price finish above 42p. But......, that is likely to come imo. If you are looking for a company to give you a fast return, then this is most unlikely to be the company for you. Lets look at the share performance over the last year though. Mid September last year the share was trading at around 26p. In the time since it has given a return of over 50%!, I'll take that from any share thank you. This is less of a high risk share than many but of course there is still risk there. Ask yourself what return are you looking for from NET over say, the next 12 months; what would you be happy with or content with?. 20%?, 50%?, 100%. What is reasonable?. In my opinion, nothing scientific, looking at the latest report I would say a return of somewhere between 20% and 50% is quite possible with less strain and anxiety than trying to chase a high flyer higher. Hello GG, welcome back to GBG, just like old times. I've missed your humour and your camaraderie so it is good to see you back. Don't worry about losing your nerve; I am sure you will get it back. Besides investing is not all about having nerve nor is it about trading constantly. Patience is key and keeping your head when all about you seem to be losing theirs. We have discussed it before but if we have invested for the right reasons then we need to be able to rest and relax in what we have invested in (easier said than done). I have every confidence in you GG, you are pretty clued up take it from me. As for the golden touch?, not me. I seem to have lost my touch. I have made some poor decisions of late. I have invested a small(ish) amount in COMS, it seemed a good idea at the time! (not good enough CM). One of the problems is that there is so much noise on the bb, with too many posters posting hype and hope rather than reasoned arguments. I have restrained from posting because I am likely to get shot down and just can't be bothered. It is a bit like the QPP board, along with the companys' CEO, talking the talk but little evidence of walking the walk. Too much talk about how the share will rocket upon the next RNS!.....heard it all before. Great promise, but it needs to be realised. Little bit too racey for me in some respects. I remain in GBG, GBO, ECK and TRCS, even increased my holding in ECK yesterday on selling out of NPT for reasons given over on GBO. Holding some funding back for possible investment in Royal Mail. Think there could be some profit waiting with RM; can't believe the government will get it wrong, they will be looking for a vote winner. No idea as to what the ipo price will be, but minimum investment is £750. No ski holiday booked GG. Just back from walking 10 days in the Alps, Tour of Mont Blanc solo, camping, staying at mountain refuges and a small and basic pension in Courmayeur. Good trip, highly recommended, providing weather is good. Started in sunshine, ended up with it trying to snow on me, brrrr. Not too bothered about the exercise of options and the selling of the same no. of shares, I can understand that. The selling of 6,100,000 shares by Andrew Lapping, non-executive director is of more concern particularly as that was a majority of his share holding. Maybe he had a good reason(s) for selling, needing to raise capital for whatever and nothing more than that or sinister. However, I am less concerned than had a no. of directors sold. The fundamentals still look good here but I am reflecting on my holding and how to raise funds for investing elsewhere. Good luck to all here. Regards CM

The final results for the year ending 30 June will be released on 24 September Although the sp performance has been disappointing of late I believe the results will be promising, especially if the latest trading update issued in June is re-read. Fundamentals remain strong. In my opinion this is a classic case of having to wait and wait a little longer before patience is rewarded, ignoring what may be happening with other shares which have been performing better Frustrating maybe, but I have had to live with that and learn from that in a number of my other holdings. Good evening saidbacon. Welcome to the board, good to see someone posting for the first time. It is pretty quiet on here which is often a good sign for a board. Apologies it has taken me until now to reply. I have been away and only returned on Friday morning since when I have been working. I also wanted to get my thoughts together before answering. I do believe there is potential with INSE, which is why I invested on 12 August at 7.46p. Before I invest I (generally) do a lot of background research and use strict criteria. With the rare exception, for me to invest, the company needs to be making a profit, to have increasing revenue, eps, a low PE, a PEG figure of less than 1.0 preferably less than 0.7, a good ROCE and operating margin. Within any trading update, results, the Chairmans statement MUST be positive with NO negatives, the directors must have a good holding along with institutional investors. Preferably there will not be too many shares in issue. The share price graph must look promising. I believe in investing into strength and not into weakness. This might mean, will inevitably mean not investing at the bottom of the share price; that does not worry me in the slightest. I will average UP, never down, meaning I am more than prepared to invest more funds at a higher share price than my initial investment. My investment in ECK and GBO bears testament to the success of that approach. I would not usually invest in a company with a low share price like INSE, preferring a share price of at least 20p, but I am prepared to make exceptions. None of us know what will happen with any company and we need to keep an eye on any investment for any change in the story and be ready to sell out should it turn negative, even if this means taking a loss. I had been watching INSE from 5.5p from only a few months or so ago. It has gained a good deal since then. That is not to say it can't repeat the rise, but don't expect it to rocket. Patience is the key. Good luck whatever you do. If you think I may be of any help please do not hesitate to ask. Keeps its' light under the bushel. Excellent. That 120p is on the ask BT, wonder how long it will be before it is on the bid. No rush to sell here, just enjoying the ride up on the quiet. Nice to come home from my expedition to some good news. Always a little nervous whilst away what is happening on the investment front, so it is good to have GBG to rest with. A year ago the sp was 86p, now in that time it has risen over 37%; I'll settle for that every time; thank you, oh, plus the dividend too. Perhaps there is something in the prefix "GB" with GBO going well too. There is a good argument to invest in both further looking at the fundamentals and the recent news. Regards CM
