They exit when they have to buy at a higher price - pushing up the price - they will lose much money just like the most shorted US share, Tesla. Shorts were over 20 percent against Tesla - they had to exit AT A LOSS IN BILLIONS $$$$$

Petrofac is not going to do a RI for the shorts to exit just because you worry "how could they exit otherwise"?

There is an RI at the right time if the borad wants it - and shareholders are their concern as well as bond holders.

In the USA shorts apparently lost $193 Billion dollars in 2023 as stocks soared

Tesla also used to be the most shorted share there, and as most know, they ended up with huge losses.

I’m not so sure high levels of shorts means much when you realise how bad they were in 2023.

MW seems to have learned their lesson hence why they exiting here. There were short against Homebase owner when a bid for the company came in! They commented that it was “only small part of our portfolio”. lol.

You SAID on December19th that Shorts definitely KNOW something. Twelve hours AFTER your posts - you were proven WRONG. So your credibility is zero. You were 100% wrong with your previous posts. That pattern will likely repeat.

Petrofac is unlikely to issue RI until share price is much higher. They know not to play into the shorts. Most likely is initial asset sales and someone taking a stake in the business. Once that is sorted, RI might come - but this would most likely occur later on as anyone with one braincell can tell that it is better to complete asset sales and/or stake taking first.

The green energy boom that petrofac is leading in Europe will soon extend to the UK networks as shown by one of the previous posters. A huge re-rate of petrofac share price and prospects s nearly here. There is no dip to 20p . 60p is much more likely - there are gaps to fill above don't forget

Many negative posters have too "western" perspective failing to realise that there is a lot of money all around the world not just in western banks. Finance and guarantees can come from ME as well as a UK or an American bank.

When you tie that up with strategic asset sales, it's quite clear that petrofac path forward is clear.

That's exactly why they have received performance guarantees for the first Tennet contract and 2nd project guarantees will follow soon. Tennet is not interested in supporting the short-sellers by hesitating as proven by the recent 2nd contact award. They are supportive of the success of this massive project. Petrofac name will be written is Dutch history as the company that made it happen - the company that has connected the Dutch to huge amounts of green power. There should be funds buying into petrofac to boost the green proposition of their investments.

Can you imagine the share price in 2025 when they re-start paying dividends?
