Published: 01 April 2006 David Page's Clapham House restaurant group is to buy up a fourth chain after beating off competition from his former PizzaExpress colleague Luke Johnson to acquire the Tootsies burger chain for £25.3m. Victory for Clapham House brings the curtain down on a dismal stock market performance by Urban Dining, the AIM-listed group behind Tootsies that has lost its shareholders money. Glen Tomlinson, himself a former PizzaExpress finance director, hoped to turn Urban Dining into a restaurant conglomerate. But he failed to find enough groups to buy and is selling Tootsies for less than the £31m he paid for it 18 months ago. Clapham House beat off competition from Mr Johnson's Giraffe chain, Gondola Holdings, the group behind PizzaExpress and Ask, and Regent Inns. It is funding the offer via a placing to raise £25.4m and also taking on £4m of Urban Dining's debt. The deal will give Clapham House, which also owns the Bombay Bicycle curry chain and The Real Greek Souvlaki & Bar, a presence outside the M25 for the first time. It plans to re-brand one-third of Tootsies' 30 outlets as Gourmet Burger Kitchen, its luxury hamburger chain. Mr Page said the group was not looking for any more chains but would continue to expand organically. Thu, 30th Mar 2006, 10:50 RC Group shot ahead today after the security systems provider said it has made a very promising start to 2006 and predicted another successful year alongside news of a new product launch. Pre-tax profit for the year to 31 December more than doubled to £4.8m from £2.3m as sales rocketed from £3.38m to £15.45m. "The beginning of 2006 has also witnessed exciting news, further expanding the prospects of the biometrics and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) industries," said RC. "China and Japan plan to use RFID tags for resident ID cards and disaster survivors' recovery respectively and Switzerland has announced that it will issue the first biometric passports on a trial basis in September 2006." "With the present new achievements as well as revenues recorded in the first three months of the current financial year, the group looks forward to a bright future," it added. The biometric identification and RFID technologies firm also announced the launch of its new product, the Fx9 laptop for which it has already secured around £1.6m of initial orders for 2006. The device comes equipped with facial recognition and RFID tracking systems allowing users to log in and access data without the use of a password. SUB. Dear Friends and Investors, Some of you may have noted a Regulatory News Service (RNS) announcement was made by the Company today. A copy of the RNS announcement is attached to this email for your information. This announcement was made to report the fact that our brokers, Canaccord Adams Limited, have exercised an option over 1,560,000 shares and subsequently placed those shares with institutional investors. The net result of this has been to increase our shares in issue by 1.37%. Canaccord in exercising the option have of course been obliged to pay for their shares at the November 2004 issue price of 20p and this action has generated an additional £ 312,000 for the Company. This option was granted at the time of our AIM listing as part of the fee for conducting the Company’s Admission. Canaccord do not hold any more options over our shares. Our bank balance was already a healthy one but the Directors have no objection to anything that strengthens our cash position. This guy usualy gets it right and his target is 200p ish Computerland climbs on second half pick-up Wed, 29th Mar 2006, 08:47 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shares in IT systems group ComputerLand UK picked up strongly as it reported that a sustained improvement in second half trading would mean profits this year coming in better than forecasts. "As a result of strong growth in our managed services business we now expect profits for the year to 30 April 2006 to be ahead of market expectations," the statement said. In December, the company reported first half underlying profits dipped from £1.1m to £800,000, but also commented it had seen an uptick in business, which it hoped would continue. A further update will be released 28 April, it added today.

Alas, despite a bull market the S/P only dropped and there was a lack of good news, the holding became a a lead weight even though I think it's a good Co'. SUB. Dear Friends and Investors, I am delighted to inform you that our Remote Operated Vehicle – ROV – was safely delivered to Marseille last week. This is the final large piece of equipment to be delivered to our vessel John Lethbridge as all the other large items have already been delivered and most of them installed. For those of you who are interested in the equipment a short video sequence showing the final test of the ROV in Aberdeen can be found on our website. Many of the equipment tests described in earlier newsletters have now taken place and John Lethbridge will be moving out to sea within the next two weeks. The vessel will then pursue a series of tests and then start the Gina project. The Gina project (gold cargo with an estimated scrap value of about USD 5.0 million) is being used by the Company’s Survey Team as a large sea trial before releasing John Lethbridge on a two year programme of wreck location and recovery, starting with the recovery of Ella – C19th gold cargo with an estimated scrap value of USD 11.0 million that was located by the team in 2005. PGI. Was called Plant & General Investments up to last year. Now has a property portfolio in Russia and grows and imports tea. Have held this one for about 2 years & has pulled up this month. Perhaps with some organic growth, don't know if it's been tipped. Fingers crossed however.

Hi Guys & Girls, noticed your informal chat about South London. Well hey, it's Saturday my day of rest, and it's nice to read about places I know. Grew up in Pimlico & moved Southside , it was cheaper. During several years around Crystal Palace I remember the ponds at Thornton Heath GedW, perhaps Iv'e seen you in in one of those pubs. I lived on Church Road but remained a Chelsea supporter. Lived in Sweden for many years but the winters were more tolerable dry & crisp. Snowboarding was my thing now they're pinned to the wall as candle holders. Cynic, noticed you like cooking, my task tonight, got some mates over, Methi Gosh & loads off rice & lentils I see BVC has dropped, might top up a few, they are well rated by Sharewatch, still a buy. SUB. Dear Friends and Investors, I am delighted to copy below the text of a London Stock Exchange Regulatory News Service announcement made by Subsea Resources PLC this morning – 10th March 2006. As you will see we have now agreed to take a vessel for the Celia Project, it is hard to convey the feelings of the team here as we move forward to this next and most exciting phase of our programme. Although many of you will recall the details of Celia it is worth reminding those that may have forgotten, this is a late 20th century copper cargo, located by John Kingsford and the CDSS team some years ago and revisited in January 2005. The cargo is about 6,000 tonnes of copper and zinc, at today’s LME price of 4,750 per tonne that equates to about 26 million USD for the copper alone. I am also pleased to confirm that we remain on track in all other areas of activity and attach below a photo of our ROV being pool tested this week. The programme for John Lethbridge which was published last November is still in very much in place and we have no plans to make any changes at this time. The installation of a new control room and all the other equipment is now nearly complete. John Kingsford, our Operations Director (who is a little pushed for time at present), will be writing to you all very shortly with a full description of the vessel and an introduction to some of the key members of the team.
