The Gentor blocks were 5 and 6 leaving the Al Thurya Block 4. I wonder what the NPV of Block 4 on its own is if the whole was worth 0.5p? Even if the mining lease were to be granted, would the small scale justify the investment I wonder?

No doubt the plans for Oman will be confirmed when the strategic review is complete. In the absence of this it does leave you wanting for a bit more comment I.e. why? I can see that with a low NPV the answer may be obvious but did we have to spend so much effort and cost drilling it out to realise this? I haven’t time to dig out my comment from a few years ago but it went along the lines of “ if Gentor couldn’t make a go of this, why do we think we can?”. Would have been better not to bother it seems?
This is only one of the blocks we have in Oman so what is happening with the others? What does Omangov PAM make of this I wonder? Hardly in support of our mining application? Are we withdrawing this etc., etc...... so many questions left hanging!

Well......80p to 36p in just a year with BCN is nothing to boast about? We will soon know if the Gangfeng deal will go through. If it does, I will indeed cash out with whatever gain is available as I don’t see much further upside for PIs long term with the Deal as described. Hopefully will sell at about 50p? If the Deal doesn’t go through, and no further funding on offer, I believe this will plunge to single figures. That’s why I got my stake off the table pdq. First rule of investment - don’t lose money!

Ah, someone else who agrees with Trisse! I also have deep reservations about Gangfeng. They made an offtake deal with Pilbarra for spodumene but have not yet built the processing capacity. Their strategy seems to be to grab capacity as quickly as possible to keep competitors out. As a result Pilbarra is suffering. “Pilbara Minerals shares are down 5.7 per cent to 67 cents after it told the market it will slow production because of delays in China constructing factories to convert spodumene to lithium. In particular, two of Pilbara's customers, General Lithium and Ganfeng have seen delays in their "conversion capacity".

Do the Aussies not have any battery production or battery minerals processing facilities in their own country? You would imagine they would have the same motivations as the Europeans?

This feels more like a game of tag wrestling than investing! You guys are so suspicious of anyone whose opinion doesn’t chime with yours! I should be more suspicious of Ganfeng and their devious plan for world domination of the lithium supply market! Time will tell.

Citizenlane, I am not Trisse but wish I had his investment portfolio! I don’t know if he is invested here but I am and seem to be one of the few people who has actually booked a substantial profit and now has free carry shares to let run until I cash them in. I am therefore keen that BCN should attract new investors. It’s therefore not very constructive for posters to mob the likes of Trisse who has enormous funds at his disposal. By all means correct any perceived misunderstandings with reasoned arguments but do try to avoid alienating major potential investors with personal slights?

EMH has had a very good day rising 12.35%. Double figure rises on news seem to be commonplace in lithium shares. Looking forward to our day in the sun!

Personally I value Trisse’s input as a very significant investor in the lithium sector. Sometimes a splash of cold water can be a wake-up call? I believe there is still money to be made by private investors in BCN but the upper limit has been greatly reduced by the Gangfeng deal as Trisse has pointed out.

Dobledee, oranges are not the only fruit! You can spread your risk across other lithium miners on AIM? I have made good profits on BCN by investing heavily at the bottom and taking profits as the price has risen. I still have a substantial investment but I have taken my original stake off the table. Suggest you take a look at SAV?

Ah Jonners, your self-imposed exile didn’t last long! We are an easy target at the moment as the drift down in share price is a fact. Difficult to justify when BCN with lesser economics has seen rises of 15% each day. Sentiment swings, investors are fickle and seek immediate returns but those of us who prop up this board are playing a long game for higher rewards. As a UCL boy I am sure your projects have at least a 5-year horizon? Jam tomorrow is fine with me!

This must be SAV’s long term target to get pole position on the supply chain of this EU project?

Yes, this is the sort of specific mention of SAV we need to drive interest from the widest possible base of investors- “In Portugal, Savannah Resources Plc hopes to produce lithium next year from a hard-rock mine. The Portuguese government also plans to launch an international auction of lithium exploration licenses this month, with bidders expected to commit to building a local lithium refinery.”

Yes kept half, sold half of BCN on the last rise. Seems deeply discounted given the Chinese partnership means production is an absolute certainty? Maybe a case of once bitten twice shy for investors in longer than me?
Meanwhile the EU backing for local mining is very positive for SAV funding. If you substitute “Portugal” with “SAV” in the latest speech it sounds very encouraging. Again, a bit more PR aiming to get our name more squarely in the frame would help.
