Gangfeng appear to have got a very cheap deal on BCN ( if it is unchallenged by counter offers). This is definitely a wake-up call to US and EU interests in Li projects worldwide. Are they going to let Chinese companies completely dominate this market? Will the Chinese have the balls to bid for Portuguese assets? My guess is yes and bidding could be very competitive. Good time to be sitting on a prime growing Li asset in Portugal, well defined and licensed.

Interesting interview and DA is in sparkling form. News to come on further resource updates, offtake and partnerships and surprisingly, involvement in a LiO2 processing plant in Portugal using a high percentage of renewable energy. That should align well with EU low carbon objectives!

Yes, the penny seems to have dropped that to compete with the Far East battery suppliers, they need to be producing high-quality batteries in a sustainable, ethical manner. At least they have a clean slate to start from and of course this noble objective will favour local (European) suppliers of LiO2, namely SAV and BCN’s German assets. I just hope that they get on with building the productive capacity and don’t plough all the funding into hungry academic establishments with dreams of new technologies?
