Don’t think he’d be trying to secure a Rig and organise a drilling campaign with Finder if he weren’t sure.

Furthermore, nobody knows the Chuditch assets like Sunda so TL would be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn’t award the extension!

Finder Timor-Leste B.V. held a public consultation meeting for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) of the Kuda-Tasi and Jahal (KTJ) Development Project at Salão Delta Nova, Dili on 2 June 2026.

The meeting brought together representatives from government ministries, NGOs, academic institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to discuss the proposed development of the Kuda-Tasi and Jahal Oil Fields in the Timor Sea.

We thank all participants for their valuable feedback and contributions. All comments and suggestions received will be considered in the final EIS report submitted to ANP for assessment. The public consultation remains open until 21 July 2026. The draft EIS can be accessed through the ANP website (https://lnkd.in/gKsEvv24) or reviewed at the ANP and Finder offices.

Members of the public are encouraged to submit their comments and feedback before the consultation period closes. Please refer to the link above for further details on the public consultation.

His Excellency Francisco da Costa Monteiro, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with Mr. Bruce Begnell, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Timor-Leste, accompanied by accompanied by the head of the Political, Economic, and Consular sections of the American diplomatic mission Mr. Rodney LeGrand.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on developments in Timor-Leste’s oil and gas and minerals sectors, as well as opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation and investment between Timor-Leste and the United States.

During the meeting, Minister Monteiro provided an update on the Government’s priorities for the petroleum sector, including the Greater Sunrise project, Bayu-Undan redevelopment, ongoing exploration activities in both onshore and offshore areas, and the continued implementation of the Tasi Mane project. The Minister also highlighted Timor-Leste’s efforts to diversify its economy through the development of the minerals sector, including ongoing exploration activities for manganese, marble, copper, chromite, and other strategic minerals.

Minister Monteiro highlighted that oil, gas, and minerals remain important sectors for Timor-Leste’s long-term economic development, energy security, and future revenue generation. His Excellency also highlighted the growing international interest in critical minerals and encouraged greater engagement by United States companies in exploring investment opportunities in Timor-Leste.

For his part, Mr. Begnell welcomed the exchange of views and noted the increasing global importance of critical minerals and secure supply chains. The United States delegation expressed interest in learning more about developments in Timor-Leste’s minerals sector and discussed opportunities to facilitate connections between Timor-Leste and potential investors and business delegations from the United States.

Until questions are answered by AB and Gerry about what is going on I cannot give you the answer you want, like most here I am bemused by the rapid fall of 50% since consolidation.

AB has always been straight, think much has been outwith him and his decisions, especially last year. He has put up a big chunk of cash for NZ, all credit to him.

This will hopefully settle and rebound !

On May 28, 2026, H.E. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, and H.E. Ferdinand Romualdez MARCOS Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, met in Tokyo and shared their vision to enhance energy security and supply chain resilience amid the current geopolitical situation.

Building upon the leaders’ discussions, as well as the Philippines’ national efforts to strengthen its national stockpiling system and promote ASEAN-wide joint stockpiling, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) and the Department of Energy of the Philippines (DOE) will advance relevant cooperation

under the framework of the 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐎𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 (“𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐑 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚”).

1. 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐏𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒

The Philippines is working on the establishment of a strategic petroleum reserve program, including the development of new stockpiling facilities.

Japan will support this initiative by conducting necessary feasibility studies, and providing capacity building in the development of a stockpiling system, in cooperation with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia

(ERIA), the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC), the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Japanese trading companies and Japanese engineering companies with technical expertise in this field. Both sides will explore the possibility of Japanese government institutions and private companies participating in EPC and financing for relevant projects.

2. 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍-𝐖𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐏𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆

Both sides take note of the Philippines’ commitment to establish ASEAN‑wide joint stockpiling and will work toward the realization of this vision, beginning with the development of a roadmap by ERIA on financing and other relevant aspects, which will be announced at the ASEAN Summit and the AZEC Summit.

Japan intends to engage with oil‑producing countries, including those in the Middle East, in promoting these efforts, while supporting ASEAN’s own institutions in strengthening regional energy security and resilience. Building upon a long-standing bilateral relationship, METI and the DOE seek further

collaborative action and tangible results, reflecting a shared vision for a secure, sustainable, and prosperous energy future for both nations and the Asian region.
