The University website on 25/2/2020 said, The Headcase cancer Trust continues to fund a new vaccine approach into an aggressive brain cancer glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). They will be working alongside Queen Mary University of London and France’s Hôpital Saint Louis.
Professor Graham Pockley, Director of NTU’s John van Geest Cancer Research Centre, said: “It is an exciting period for those of us that are working hard to develop new approaches for turning a patient’s immune system against their tumour – so called immunotherapy. Although success has been seen in many areas, effective treatments for GBM remain elusive.
“Combining a vaccine approach which has already been tested in another setting with strategies for preventing the tumour switching off the immune attack and enabling activated immune cells to enter the brain and reach the tumour has great potential.”
The vaccine ‘delivery system’ utilised by the scientists will be Scancell’s ‘Immunobody®’ technology, a version of which has been successfully used to develop SCIB1.

The international women and girls in science day is currently trending on Twitter.
A lot of past and present women scientists are getting a name check for their scientific work. It would be nice to see a few tweets about Lindy and her groundbreaking work in the fight against cancer.
be nice to see a few tweets mentioning Lindy for what she has achieved and hopes to achieve
Tom Worthen, the SCIB1 cancer patient featured on BBC South, sadly passed away on 27th November last year.
https://www.pallantchambers.co.uk/tom-worthen/
I emailed Scancell to let them know and got a reply from Richard,
"Dear C,
Thank you for your e mail about Tom Worthen and apologies for this short reply as I am on holiday in a remote part of rural India and only have my phone.
I was sorry to hear that Tom had died and was not aware of it before. I really hope that SCIB1 prolonged his life although one can never be sure in any individual patient.
He had late stage melanoma when he entered the trial and the treatment seemed to have kept the disease at bay for some time.
Best wishes
Richard"
Sad news about Tom which puts things into perspective when long term holders like myself get frustrated with the share price. I can always remember the ex conservative MP and football presenter, David Mellor once saying,
"The most important thing in life is your health and not your wealth."
Emotional Dr James Hull speaking yesterday on 'This Morning' with Philip and Holly, about his various cancers and also talking about his groundbreaking cancer research initiative, involving some of the best British scientists.

7 years ago on August 15th 2012, Scancell released an RNS about the discovery of moditope.
http://www.scancell.co.uk/news/latest-news/stimulation-of-killer-cd4-t-cells-with-potent-anti-tumour-activity
I remember Richard Goodfellow being very excited, using words like serendipity. He also framed Lindy's email about her discovery and hung it on his office wall.
Let's hope Moditope reachers its true potential, not just for long term shareholders, but more importantly for cancer sufferers.
There has been a steady increase of Scancell Twitter followers over the last few weeks. This weekend they have reached over 500. Lets hope the increased interest reflects on the share price over the coming months, weeks and hopefully days ahead.
Sad to hear that David Evans has retired from collagen solutions due to ill health. David is suffering from Sporadic Inclusion Body Myositis (SIBM) a progressive muscle disorder.

I wish David all the best with his fight against his illness.
It is worth noting that when David Evans left the board at Scancell the share price was around 18p. With the recent rise and continued newsflow the share price will hopefully reach and exceed that figure in the near future.
Thanks for Some great posts from Ratcliffewriter yesterday.
Just noticed an interesting article from February by Lindy Durrent and Ruhul Choudhury from Scancell
