RE: 4.4p for Fairbride6 Jul 2018 10:40
It is true that many of the things CB has said publicly and in private conversations with various shareholders have proved either to take much longer than he has given us to believe or not to materialise at all.
This begs the question "Is CB intentionally setting out to deceive the market?"
There are some posters on this board that would have us believe that he is a scheming scoundrel that should be kept well out of reach, and I do have some empathy for this sentiment, given the history of the company.
Other posters, on the other hand, would say that CB has turned the company around over the last 18 months and that his 'low risk' strategy that limits shareholder risk is taking longer than he expected to bear fruit. These delays, those posters would say, has a lot to do with CB's enthusiasm leading his being over-optimistic with his timelines when put under intense pressure by shareholders to make short term predictions. I also have empathy with this faction of investors.
So what is he: A scoundrel or a company saver that will get there in the end?
Only the individual can decide, but one thing is worth noting - during the three years that a certain ex CEO was making a complete hash of the company whilst in all likelihood lining his own pocket and those of his friends at the expense of long-suffering shareholders, CB was the only Board member not to draw his salary, so as to help with the cashflow, and he then converted his back-salary into shares at 2.8p - which, at the time was market value. This had to be agreed at the recent AGM, by which time the SP had dropped to a little over 1p, yet he still went ahead and converted £100,000 of his own money into shares at 2.8p.
You have to ask yourself, is this an act of a scoundrel, or of a basically honorable man that was determined to stand by his word, even though it would cost him dearly...
Many people say, when deciding where to invest, make your choice based on the management record of the individuals involved and only invest when the person in charge has a lot of skin in the game.
So, what are the options?
Those in the 'scheming scoundrel' camp will probably sell up as soon as they can afford to do so whilst those in the 'competent and honorable' camp will continue to accumulate at, what they believe to be, rediculously low prices, awaiting, with anticipation, their perceived rewards in due course.
So, dear Reader, in which camp do you stand?
