Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Once the market realises that FB is now moving into 30+ yrs life of mine territory, we will not have to worry about getting to the mid 5s...
Hello Andrew,
I've got a feeling that CB was quoting lead times from the lab once samples were received, rather than from the actual end of drill date ( although that may have been what he said) I seem to remember thinking that the split core samples were taking longer than expected to prepare on site (maybe due to their being longer than originally envisaged?). This might account for the overall delay in receiving back the results?
Do I not remember (perhaps from a ER presentation or maybe a post here a few months ago?) that the Chinese contractors had agreed to modify their mining technique to one that took 3 or 4 months longer to set up, but would provide much more gold on a more consistent basis than the original 'blast it and see what we get' approach
That being the case the first gold should be being produced at some time this month or October at the latest.
Hopefully we will get an update in the next quarterly report, saying that GF is producing more gold and at a more consistent rate than was originally planned for. That would go a long way towards ensuring the company will be cashflow-positive for the foreseeable future.
Hello Rob,
Should that have been 'B'?
$100m is nothing, even for a small copper mine...
Should read: close correlation between airborne assay data and actual drill results... what a difference one word makes!
Apologies if somebody had already posted this - I could easily have missed it- but one of the biggest overlooked factors for CB's confidence in BR seems to me to be the repeated close correlation between drill assay data and actual drill results so far in phase 2. This exceptionally close correlation that has been experienced so far offers a very strong probability that the magnetic assay results have accurately identified the presence of copper-bearing mineralisation over a huge area to the SE.
I would not be surprised if CB and his team are now looking at a 30 yrs + mine life at BR, and that is well worth getting excited about!
Based on that podcast, I think that Colin believes that the SP should be at least 6p already, just based on the exploration results to date - and still with all that copper and gold income in the pipeline. I honestly believe we will see double figures this year - and I can't wait to open that bottle of champagne!
Agreed Mark,
Difficult to believe that we only have a market cap in the mid 30s - By the sound of it Eureka is worth that on it's own!
-Looks like you are still reading the BBs , Colin, so thank you for a great update.
I agree, Billy.
I bet there are a lot of people out there that are currently scratching their heads about this week's news. In my view the market has completely missed the significance of the last two RNSs, otherwise the SP would be almost double the current level.
It must be very frustrating for CB to watch the SP languishing at this level, given the recent news and the picture that is forming. If Colin reads these BBs then I guess that will also depress him because so few seem to have fully understood the implications of, what IMHO amount to be, two pretty extraordinary updates in quick succession.
Maybe the RNSs are a bit on the technical side for many of us to be able to properly interpret their meaning? - If this is the case then maybe it would be a good idea for Colin to do another podcast and properly explain and expand on the meaning of the RNSs - using words that we can all understand?
From my perspective XTR is fast becoming one of the most investible companies on AIM - but, until a lot more people agree with me, we LTHs will not be properly rewarded for our patience over the years
If you are reading this BB, Colin - Over to you!
And after all that, a red day!!!!?
Any reason for the sudden jump in SP - is it the Kwadoku effect?
It makes sense that we should try to show SFR that the included licenses have high potential so as to encourage them to prioritise exploration on our sold licences and so fast-track any success payment payable to GLR: A win- win situation?
Hello Ella,
Without having had confirmation to the contrary, I wouldn't bet on it - after all, plans often fail to come to fruition...
Not sure that drilling has even started yet, never mind expecting results!
As the May 5th RNS clearly stated: "we look forward to updating the market as our drilling work progresses.” - it would seem that no updates equate to no drilling - or have I missed something?
I'm not sure that it takes 8-10 years to start an open pit mine - particularly if there is heavy mineralisation close to surface?
Am I imagining things ( or perhaps thinking about Manica) when I say there is a chance that a neighbouring mining contractor may have spare processing capacity with their plant? - If so, then early production could be processed by a third party and the initial profits used to set up a fully XTR-owned mine and processing plant for use further down the line.
Surely with an open pit and third-party processing the initial income event could be brought forward by several years?
"BRDD-21-014 encountered a wide interval of sulphide mineralisation suggesting that the airborne geophysics programme has identified a new zone or possibly a sheared zone from the Racecourse deposit. Recently received magnetic survey results suggest that the hole was on the margin of a new system and as such we are excited about the further potential. "
Sorry! - Ella...
Hello Alla,
Not sure who you mean by AFR - could it be AFP?
So only one more hurdle to jump before the SFR deal is completed - and only 2 weeks to go - if longer was needed then the extension to the back-stop date would have been modified accordingly.
We need to remember that, at a shallow angle, the drill has to travel a long way horizontally before encountering mineralisation if the mineralisation starts at 200m depth, so could easily miss the deposit all together -It seems to me to be very hit and miss for drills that are very shallow unless you already know the exact location and depth of the deposit so you can position the drill pad accordingly...
