tom if you had been in the Soviet Block for a few generations you would behave in the same way - it's a cultural thing (as Sandy may comment on) and will take another decade at least to get over (maybe longer) it's not just Romania there are many ex Iron Curtain countries like Rom.
AP has lived there many years but I don't think he has had to deal with something as complex and obtuse as this licence association and has clearly been lead up the garden path by the authorities (for one reason or another).
IMO Andrew is tenacious individual and he has far too much at stake to let anything stop this licence - I think it is very close and will arrive soon.
The issues with the RNS were unacceptable, probably due to AP basically running the show without UK staff .
I know several posters have questioned the speed of expansion of VAST, but I fully back as large an expansion as possible - the opportunities in Rom and Zim are fleeting and in a year or so will be gone. Some may disagree but the policy has been stated clearly by the BoD in the chairman's letter and I personally support it 100%.
There seems to be some negativity around VAST at the moment and I understand that , however IMO if you look at what is actually going on we are becoming stronger by the day.
The RNS today emphasizes this - we are a step closer to mining our new Marange concession with the expertise of BOD, particularly with James Campbell on board who is highly respected in the diamond business.
For a small mining company the opportunities are huge and Andrew is the catalyst who has acquired most of the assets VAST holds currently.
There has been some serious criticism of AP on the BB recently, (probably out of frustration) but I hope we as shareholders can support Andrew for the next few months over this tricky period.
Once we get BPPM and Marange producing we will have the revenues develop other assets very quickly through debt funding - the potential is huge, but we need to get those assets producing and that will cost cash and hopefully only a small amount of dilution.
