OF COURSE IT CAN!...this will cost BT hundreds of millions....perhaps billions to resolve...esp if the govt bans contracts with Chinese tech companies

As my post suggests HUGE oversight...I spoke with the EX CTO of BT back in 2014 regarding this and he was saying it was crazy although at the time BT were twin supplied by Huawei and an Israel based company ECI....perhaps now they should rely more on Nokia and cut out all the Chinese spying equipment :)

I've been saying for years that BT should rid itself of Huawei but it has purchased pretty much all of its infrastructure from this state sponsored tech institution....Huawei are banned in the US, Australia and France...FOR GOOD REASON....do you think that they dont have the tech to spy on UK business and Govt if they are the ones supplying the equipment....a BIG oversight by BT management esp Openreach...and now the furore re Meng Wanzhou...if geo politically something escalates with China can you imagine the repercussions on BT's share price???
