I posted here extensively last autumn during the RI , though by design a LTH, I played the RI successfully and built up a 3X normal volume stake for me at around 70p most of which I sold ~£1 ,leaving my normal holding as <3% of a diverse portfolio.
The position around the time of the RI was that we had no vaccine, international travel was essentially halted and the economy was in bottom gear, BUT IMV there was an implicit assumption that either a medical solution to Covid would be found or the world would have to return to normal function and bear the risk of illness and death as the lesser evil.
Now, we have vaccines , widely implemented in the developed world but still miles away from global rollout and there is still a handbrake on much of the activity on which RR depends for the bulk of its revenue.That is leading to the gradual drift lower of this and related shares, while much of the economy recovers.I have no idea whether RR is at a bottom or whether it has further down to go , but I am almost certainly, absent any major negative news, going to add to my position here on the basis that , within my timescale (of 2/3 years) it will be appreciably higher, even if that requires another cash call.

To summarise, it says that because many US shale producers locked in forward sales contracts at low prices(by todays measure)they have no incentive to raise production in the short term . Ergo opec+ can be assured that if they hold, or even increase production US shale is unlikely to flood the market and bring prices back down .Opec + have regained the power of "swing producer"they lost to shale a couple of years ago.

Brixton Hi , Though its not where I put most of my cash there is money to be made in AIM shares , as ever the trick is simple know which to buy, when to buy and when to sell! There are quite a lot of minnows with a good "story" and often they make some progress , BUT I have done best by watching closely , monitoring the cash situation and baling out as soon as they run into funding problems . For history see the SXX and HUR boards, both of which had many enthusiastic PI's who ended up bitter and poorer and if you are serious about making money(or at least not losing much) read them as a lesson in what can and does go wrong. I will have a read of the ANGS board out of curiosity.

OK Falky If you didn't get it ,saying you had claimed to have bought a house on Bishops avenue for FOURPENCE was a joke . Your actual claim was to have spent IIRC £200k in the seventies on a house . I pointed out that that sum was approx 10/20 times the average price of houses at that time. I think I answered your question clearly enough, I am sure you won't take any advice from me but if you did i would suggest that IMVHO just now is not a good time to be making short term leveraged bets on the upside.

I have just remembered(having not been able to get to Spain for over two years!!)why it is that the Statista stuff only covers about 50% of the Spanish grocery market and that is because there are literally thousands of small grocers who trade under the "Coviran" brand, IIRC they are a sort of co-operative and maybe a bit like 7-11 for those of you who have been to Asia. They are everywhere , 3 of them in the nearest small town to where I live and one on every street corner (or so it seems !) in the larger cities. I guess they must take up much of the grocery market and again never going to be a part of the home delivery scene.

No Kit e Kat for tiddles today . She may be the smartest creature in the two toes household but she should know that RR don't do dividends , or at least not in any practical form. They offer divis as "C" shares worth , the last time I had any, about one millionth of a penny and thus unless you've got a billion not worth selling. Whatever long term recovery there is in the price here , don't anybody think that there is a potential useful divi anytime soon.

As i have spent about half of the last twenty years in Spain I thought i'd offer a bit of background on the Spanish supermarket situation , (my experience is as a customer only!)
Mercadona which is per the stats referenced today, the largest Spanish chain with 23% of the market provide a small to medium sized supermarket in almost every Spanish town and larger villages . their customer base is . I would say , fairly traditional , rural Spain is surprisingly old- fashioned in many ways. I suspect that the concept of groceries delivery is unlikely to appeal to the sort of older Spanish Senoras who like to shop local and gossip with their friends and neighbours as they do so. Mercadona may well continue to provide their current service for a couple of decades yet, their market share declining only slowly as their customers , or more likely their children migrate to the larger cities.
Carrefour the French company have a hypermarket in every major city and I would guess that that's where they do the vast bulk of their business, their Carrefour express is like Tesco's, very much smaller , street corner and again in the major cities.
Grupo Dia is a discount grocer , with relatively small stores and very limited product ranges at the bottom end of the price chain offering prices at or below LIDL and again very unlikely ever to offer a delivery service.
Grupo Eroski is a basque originated chain, which in recent years has spread south , it has a few hypermarkets and again is an unlikely candidate fro a major move in to home delivery.
So I suppose my summary is that the only practical partners for OCDO were Auchan and Carrefour. My history here is much shorter than many but I see that there are references to a tie up with Carrefour back several years ago but I haven't researched the details.I'v e no doubt others can fill the gaps I've left!

Given that sensible companies which pay significant Divis like to create a gently rising pattern , my (guess)timate would be that the Q2 divi might be in the 20-25 cents region , ramping back up over the next couple of years to previous levels.If that turns out to be true , then at present SP levels the divi represents a 4%+ pa future return, gently positive for the SP.

Hi Brixton, I hold a portfolio of small caps , for entertainment rather than profit!, tho' I do hope /expect one or two to pay for the others. My current holdings are(Epic codes ) ETX,MANO, TSLT, EQT, SONG, JSG,KMK,RFX,STX,SHI,TGP, BBOX,AGL, GRID, ZYT and VIC.Somewhat skewed to my native north east and containing , I hope one or two winners, to counteract steady losses on the majority!
That by the way is not investment advice , I have had one or two big winners from AIM but my bread and butter (and jam) is from boring, FTSE 100 stocks and IT's which I hold for years and generate modest but cumulative profits.

I quite often point out the posters on this and other boards whose contribution is positively harmful to a sensible discussion about the SP prospects of the company concerned, that includes, flawed information , misleading statements, whether to the positive or negative side,and people like yourself who post incessantly about their investing success almost invariably AFTER the event .Successful investing happens via complete luck , which might occur once or twice but not everyday,or hard work, thorough research and a sensible investment strategy . YOU offer none of that , I have never seen a factual contribution from you about the company in question,though I have seen several claims which are verifiably untrue,your input is merely a repetitive quoting of positions which I desperately hope are false, otherwise you must by now have lost all your initial stake. I will not post again on this thread so feel free to monopolise the board for the rest of the day.

Apple shares were IPO'd at $22in 1980, they have subsequently split many times and have from my memory as an investor for decades,NEVER been at the equivalent of £1 nor anywhere close.Looking at the SP might imply that they were cheap in the 80's and 90's but those stats have been corrected for splits Falky if you are going to make wild and unsubstantiated claims I would step up your research.

In June 2021, the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) began proceedings to review the validity of 2 of the 5 US patents asserted by AutoStore, with further PTAB decisions on the other patents expected over the next month. The PTAB has stated that "based on the evidence Ocado has demonstrated a reasonable chance of prevailing in its assertions that the challenged claims of the patents are unpatentable".
I think that is saying that the US patent office don't think Autostore have patent rights on the wheel!

TBH I am invested here 'cos I believe the story that OCDO are a tech solutions company not a grocer, so other than as proof of concept the UK grocery market tie up is almost irrelevant to the long term profitability of the company. There may be competitors in this field, but other than AMZN , I am not aware . On the assumption that the world won't end up with just a single grocer then I think OCDO are fine.

The players appear to have gone home without agreement,so the proposal to increase production by 400k bbl per day for five months (ie total 2mill bbl by December) is now off.Given the return to normality which will happen post- Covid , whether sooner or later , the POO is likely to rise steadily this year.Whatever the medium term future of oil production or price , all the oil majors are going to have spectacular set of results for the 2021 FY. IMO we are still decades away from a significant decline in oil production or use so an investment in the oil majors will be profitable for many years to come. RDSB will remain part of my boring, traditional , profitable portfolio !

Alcampo are the Spanish equivalent of ASDA, very large stores but only about 100 of them all over Spain.(I have used the Motril store extensively) They are part of the Auchan chain which operates in most European countries, about 4000 shops in total. This agreement is specifically for the Spanish Alcampo subsidiary but see this from this morning's RNS
"Ocado and Auchan Retail will also explore the potential to extend this partnership into other geographies."
which could well mean the start of a very major Europe wide rollout of OCDO tech.
I have been accumulating here in the 1900's (price not date!!)and with the minor cloud on the horizon of the legal patent challenge still some distance from resolution and the financial impact if any, lessening as OCDO's financial position strengthens will continue to do so.

Noted over the weekend . In her four years at GSK Emma Walmsley has accumulated £50 million 's worth of shares , almost all through incentive schemes.
