Arsinal - yes very good old boy - done very well with RR. and I think there is more to come - just need to be patient - been a good year for me so far with MKS outperforming - down on a little on MGC and ITV atm but I think value stocks will come good in the end ... fingers crossed - good to here from you matey.

Lots of pontification on this board speculating if RR are going to go further north or tank - with concern that the Israel war will impact - imv it highlights the need for defence more than ever and is a plus for RR going forward - Tufan added to his holding at 218.8p and Mcabe doubled her holding at the same price a couple of weeks ago, which is around 4pct less than the share price now - this tells you all you need to know - investing doesn't have to be complicated - follow the money guys

FTSE heavily made up of commodity stocks - oil is getting hammered out of sight today - down 3pct as I am typing - this plays through to the FTSE

Tufan and another director added to their holdings at 218.8p recently - they know far more about what is going on with this business than than anyone else - down today on the back of US rates being higher for longer, as is the rest of the UK market - once there is any sniff that rates have peaked in the states this goes north of 250p pdq imho

Dangerous times for shorts now in the lead up to the trading update in a couple of weeks - sentiment turning positive for MCG, this reminds me very much of the lead up to the RR. trading update which decimated shorts at the time - funds are now wary of big recoveries in UK stocks - Keir has put on around 30pct since their recent update - MKS around 30pct - shorts will not want to be caught out and I expect further buying here to consoliodate/hedge their positions accordingly - lets see

A few moments ago from the Telegraph - Dame Sharon Lewis 'to stand down' as John Lewis chairman - Dame Sharon Lewis is poised to stand down as chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, according to the BBC - Marks have destroyed Waitrose market share and the fall out from this is now there for all to see -

Nothing has changed since the Ocado results which were pretty good imv - echoed by some analysts who upgraded before and after the results were issued - Exane have given their opinion which resulted in a 20pct fall - completely unjustified imo

Bought back the tranche I sold at 885p a few weeks ago for 717p and will add if it falls further - I may have held back on this purchase but the fact that valueplay the perrma bear is advocating further falls persuaded me to buy - gla dyor etc

NEXT raising guidance on results today - should augur well for MKS - another blue day here coming down the pipe

Decided to take a punt here with a small tranche - I like the company based on previous record, I believe that the sell off is overdone based on interest rates near peaking and inflation imv already peaked - I think companies will start to invest more in this scenario going forward and SFOR will benefit accordingly - gla dyor etc

US rising big as retail sales better than expected and an inflation number lower than expected - imv markets/fund managers buying up cheap stocks on the basis of interest rates in the UK and US near peak and inflation already peaked - good times coming for MCG - rerate coming down the pipe here or maybe even a takeover - predators normally look for macro economic conditions to be favourable going forward before a bid it tabled so this has to be in play now at this price

I think MKS has been walked down on the back of the JL news Chilting - when in reality MKS are more or less responsible for the demise of JL - I sold a tranche here at 226p and will buy them back if this falls below 214p (a 5pct short gain) -

Hey Josey - personally I don't see a rights issue - MCG have operated with the same debt levels previously - it is the nature of the beast with this sector and always has been - MCG well hedged for fuel and the economic scenario is improving not deteriorating - I won't be selling anything, I will add more if it falls below 80p

I said in a post a week or so ago that sentiment is changing with regards to undervalued UK stocks which have been driven down on rates and inflation rising alongside a worldwide recession - shorts have milked this for all it is worth - MCG is one of a few UK shares that has been hammered - as the reality of interest rates peaking and inflation reducing takes hold this share will rerate imo - Bailey has as good as said rates are probably already at their peak - mortgage lenders agree and have been reducing rates big over the last few days - good times ahead here just stay patient.
