If people didn’t have opinions there wouldn’t be a need for message boards. We might not agree with what people say but that’s the value of challenge.

It can get ridiculous at times. Years back I had a contrary opinion on a small oily and there was a guy who posted a lot, had a ‘following’ and ego to match who didn’t like my opinion and even had a vote up or down as to whether people should or shouldn’t read what I said. Pathetic. I think he is probably broke now.

Just a thank you to IK. I bought this morning on a hunch that we are close to the bottom and with the results due took a view that they will confound the critics. Risk, but a calculated one. Seeing the IK postings gives a tad more comfort.
It’s all very well saying the boss is an entrepreneur but you still have to operate with reasonable governance standards given it’s a public company. Hopefully that lesson is being learned.

People are more likely to write reviews when they aren't happy. It's the way of the world. What about the possibly thousands who think the opposite but don't feel the urge to tell everyone on social media?

For ages I thought I was the only one who remembered the Gordon Brown pensions fiasco which was largely unnoticed at the time.
The other Labour catastrophe for me was Iraq. Tories supported Blair on that one. The Tories aren’t much good one or two senior characters apart eg Sunak. We are in a bit of a spot looking for future statesmen/ women.

While travel might not be stopped there is a possibility that people won't want to take the risk of getting caught out by ever changing rules around the world.

Given the governance around THG it wouldn't surprise me if they thought it might be a good idea to spread good news around informally like this. Its not their strong point. After all, the last time they had a formal market presentation the share price turned south. I would be cautious, that's all, pinch of salt and all that.

It's presumably like anything- you buy the one you like. I've just looked at the marketing on this, and the machine and it is rather impressive. You are doing yourself a favour by buying their kit, recycling the pods and supporting the growers- and ultimately shareholders, of which I am one.

If you are an employee celebrating achievements why would you post on a third party open site like LinkedIN? Wouldn't you be whatsapping or emailing your colleagues internally? It feels odd and orchestrated to have so many quotes from different colleagues.

I suspect the lack of face to face AGMs has saved SS from a verbal battering by shareholders. It is one thing to make poor business decisions but quite another to entice shareholders to subscribe for a rights issue because you will be buying in too, and then don’t follow through. He will have to come up with the goods by the time he tries another rights issue or has a general meeting with people present. I can’t see why the FCA haven’t got onto this.

I want to diversify for grandsons but Ruffer bought and sold Bitcoin which doesn't to me feel like a sensible 'investment' though it was the reason they had their best performance in 10 yrs. Diversifying sensibly from SMT is the issue at hand. I don't think LSE has a page for such chats which would be useful, and not clog up boards like this.

I invested each month for two grandsons for ten years till 4 years ago (they are now early teens) outside the CTF which were maxed out. They are now very well off, relatively speaking, but I will need to steadily take care of their CGT allowances and sell enough slowly over time to avoid them having a tax issue. SMT are over 40% of their portfolios so they do need to rebalance. Nice problem to have but a headache too! I cant decide what to do with the cash they will get and am thinking of it sitting on the sidelines a while.

The proof of the pudding will come eventually. So many deals need to be brought into a cohesive unit for starters. He is going for revenue for the time being so it’s probably going to be another couple of years before we have any bottom line benefits. Whether Sorrell will retain his energy once the basics are in place will be interesting. Patience is in order.

I sold half a month back as it had become too large for my portfolio. Fluke move there.

Inevitable pull back I think. I am sitting tight for the time being.

I agree about the increasing tax burden. Someone has to pay for the vast sums paid out in the last 18 months but doubt there will be a wealth tax. My bet is Sunak will have a plan to make us all feel richer just before the next election. Meanwhile Lloyds is a good ‘hold’.
