I’m happy with the div and buyback.
To say ‘ cash strapped retail need money in their pockets now’ is targeting the wrong retail. Any cash strapped shareholder will sell shares now, not wait for a div in a few months time.

Would be useful to know what the broker view is- takes a while to surface.

The sp has gone backwards over the 2 years I’ve held them. Doesn’t feel defensive to me, unless that means going down less than some other shares!

I was thinking of getting in here for the dividend income but something has hit the price and I can’t see any reason yet

1.8p might be a tad optimistic.

Good research there. This all has a whiff of overvaluations, poor management and now poor stock and revenue. Why has it taken so long to notice? Surely this business model is totally unsuitable for the nature of underyling clients. The short seller might not be popular but has done a good job flushing out these chancers.

Not sure which broker tip you were reading! Both those I saw were downgrades. I wish differently but that’s my take.

It's likely they have been succession planning but given the importance of the role want to benchmark against external candidates.

They look solid results and like others I am surprised at the hit on the share price which now seems oversold. I don't have the funds to top up but would if I did. Cheers everyone and good luck.

No. Probably minor technical issue- they aren't responsible for market prices, they just report them.

That's fine but if you are a shareholder reading an RNS, it needs to be in language the average reader understands not just some advertising experts. You shouldn't need to check it out with someone in the business.

I am so pleased I used my own judgment about bought IAG today, rather than come here first and see Oil rubbishing it in every post.
I finished up. I don't mind I wasn't as up as, say, Oil, but compared to where I was this morning, I am happy. It's not a competition.

According to the Kepler Research the div is forecast at 8.25p to 2024 ie unchanged. It's only covered 1.03x so dont expect any inflationary uplift any time soon.

My purpose in holding Lloyds is to make a profit on my capital in the medium term ie 3-5 yrs from now alongside a rising div. It's my biggest holding. So far so good.

I thought I would pop in here - I am a shareholder- to pick up some intelligent prose from those who understand banking P+L on the impact of inflation, interest rates,and govt policies on the numbers Lloyds might throw at us in Feb. How wrong I was.
I think we will do OK on the basis that the increased interest margin will more than offset the defaults from the economic downturn and am optimistic the div will be pushed up. But that's a guess, like everyone elses, but in my case not based on any nous about how the numbers are added up. Any insights welcome. Hope it's ok to interrupt.

Paying for overvalued assets is a clever ruse to raise NAV on which your management fees are based. Then finding the charities providing rent are financially weak, and your tenant group is the least likely to pay any rent ( often as they are on state benefits which some people think are generous but aren't) and you have a recipe for failure. It sounds a great social idea to house the homeless etc and I understand why the company exists but it needs empathetic and intensive management and skillsets. I don't feel private enterprise is compatible with the client group. The issues raised by Viceroy ring true.
