Typical market reaction to 'in-line' numbers. Better to beat expectations for positive response. It's a question of sitting it out and waiting for the green shoots. If and when the Iran conflict is over and the world is in a better place we could see progress.

Cashless banking isn't helping those who need human help, whether the digitally excluded or the likes of cash businesses eg barbers. People in those categories will switch to where there is a high street presence. Was it Barclays who said the other day they are reversing the trend and bringing the high street presence back? Unfortunately for me Barclays is an anathema from my student days 50 yrs back.

On the plus side that probably means there aren't so many bank hold-ups. and the cost of cash deliveries by eg G4S has fallen.

Second wives plus their offspring make life IHT- wise very much more complex. I am long retired and am slowly handing over cash out of income to family so I know where it's going and don't add to my ISA.

UKW feels like a tragedy at times. I like the income but it needs to be sustainable. Hopefully the next update will be reasonably clear about that.
