i do think there could be a small private market for antibody tests. There would seem to be a growing number who are reluctant to take boosters etc every few months. so this could be good for those who would prefer to see if their antibodies from past infection or vaccination are covering them rather than being pumped full of mRNA or other stuff with no long term history.

if i were colin ..i would be speaking to dam on this ..as it is something that priced at £30 or so could be a nice little earner for all with minimum set up

as i said before omicron will not have speeded up any approvals - more likely the opposite. Having waited since the summer for eu approval the chances are it won't be this week in my opinion.

£17m always sounded a lot to me however it is now secondhand so if purchased by odx this would have to be reflected in price paid. i can't see the gov wanting it back (storage / transportation costs) - probably scrapping of good equipment more than likely knowing paperwork merchants
