i see someone unable to accept they made a mistake in investing and it might not end well with them losing lots of cash.
averaging down could also be described as throwing good money after bad.

atan - i believe the gov won't give up easy on getting the £2.5m pre production payment back...they will be want to seen protecting tax payer money...

odx did not produce anything so are not entitled to a pre production payment.

i think they have been wise to "threaten" a counter claim - even though i can't see what leg they have to stand on having read the contract..... if the gov reduce the repayment to half to avoid the potential bad PR....it will be seen as a good result for both imho

it might get settled in mediation - but there is no guarantee. gov taking ncyt to court.
remember it is good publicity for the gov being seen to pursue companies for money owed.

the reality is that it is another kicking for the uk companies - as they are the only ones the gov have power over.
the chinese / turkish ones etc took the money and run - no chance brit gov will get anything back...so they will try to look good pursuing uk ones...who they already sh*fted

morally the gov is in the wrong - however with odx - the contract was heavily skewed against them...they signed not understanding it...

very sensible post and why it was disappointing that odx sold off their far superior medical tests portfolios to keep the "crystal healing side" of things . they have lost credibility as a serious diagnostic company to focus on snake oil.

the contentious snake oil product was profitable when the overheads were shared with the other divisions. the first year it stands alone then it becomes loss making.....one did not need a crystal ball to see that coming

the target of usa whilst sounds good on paper - is very difficult in reality to crack.plus bodies over there are clearly stating that the test is not worth it

unfortunately some lth holders are so "fixed" in their ways/opinions and unable to swallow their pride - they got it wrong - that they are clinging on desperate to average down enough to try and snatch a victory. all of us were victim of a corrupt government and an incompetent company. the govt contract should have been a banker ...but one side could not be trusted and the other could not understand what was written
