I've always made it 100% clear that I am a swing/position trader. I'll always take a good profit it it comes my way and I'll buy back on pullbacks. I don't look for a fixed percent. I look for a fixed ROI in annualised terms. Everybody is free to choose their own style. That's mine.

I am not alone. As I've said many times, the average holding time for most BTC miners is short. For RIOT, it'a about 5 days. I don't see any problem with that. Do you? The reality is that most traders do not use these boards for various reasons.

Also, I don't recall telling anybody that I was a 'long-term holder in ARB'. What I *have* said, is that I'm a johnny-come-lately. Looking at my records, the longest that I've ever held ARB was 52 days on two occasions.

FYI. Not everybody here is trying to take advantage of others.

- DPO has continued to trade ahead of our expectations and is already EBITDA profitable

I never try and make predictions. I used to, but they were uniformly wrong as they are for most other people...and hence they're pointless.

Chuz, I took a £5k loss today on Go Ahead Group at 20% manual stop. I had a £25K position. I dumped GOG, because there was 'financial irregularity' involved and that shi* takes forever to resolve.

I have over £100K in crypto miners/coins and I'm also ~20% down, but I'm NOT selling. Crypto and crypto miners have a MUCH higher volatility than most equities and I'm not concerned about a 20% drawdown. I've had some scary moments a couple of months ago when I was 50% down on ARB, but one last doubling-down 'near' the bottom and a single 20% daily rise brought it back to level and it made a nice trade.

I've not yet lost any money on ARB after trading it 28 times.

I'm 'expecting' this to eventually bounce. The ride could get scary, but that's crypto. I'm aiming to double-down at some point, but am waiting for confirmation of an upswing in BTC.

That's what they told us... I contacted them a while back (10 Aug) and they said "Thank you for your email and for your interest in our ETF. All the details related to the issuance of the ETF will be posted soon, we will make sure to keep you updated on it."

I'll leave you to make up your own mind on what the answer means. I'm hoping it means that it's SOON.

I'm not accusing anybody of anything. The issue is that they supposedly knew about this for some time. It was their responsibility to inform the market the moment that they knew of the issue, which was potentially not done. If it turns out that they didn't inform the market as soon as the information was available, i.e. that it happened months ago, then there is a clear cut case of the failure of fiduciary responsibility.

Over £100m of losses were incurred today. The government considered it to be serious enough to cancel 1/2 of the Rail business of Go Ahead Group. I don't think you understand the gravity of the news.

Today's loss of the SE franchise wipes out about half of the rail franchise. But more importantly, the other half (GTR) is now due for renewal with the government. That franchise expires literally within 2 days. They have not yet secured an extension of that franchise. If they lost that, they would effectively have *no* rail franchise as the remainder is tiny in comparison.

Rail accounts for about 75% of revenue and about 20% of profits pre-covid, but the biggest loss of all is the loss of faith with the government. That could be fatal for the group. You can guarantee that the government will make an example of them.

Looking good long-term. RSI now over 70 though, so I'm less confident about another explosive move upwards in the short-term. Who knows though, just saying that might make Mr Market move it up, just to punish my arrogance.

From what I see in Kraken, there was a very mild rise, but overall, the near-term trend is showing lower highs, lower lows. It's just a bit of volatility. We need Elon Musk to give BTC a boost... I don't think Michael Saylor is going to move it any more. It's starting to sound like he's talking his own book; like the rest of us!

I could have handled a 50% share drop on incompetence, but I'm not prepared to stay with a company facing a fraud investigation. There is a material possibility that they could lose their GTR franchise as well, which would effectively leave them without any rail division... That could easily unravel into a question of company survival.

Breakout? I don't see any breakout. I just see BTC and ETH sinking. Nasdaq down over 2%, so hard to see that we'll hold up with that background sentiment. Of well, our day will hopefully come...

We now have a >2% drop is Nasdaq as well, so I would expect to see more volatility this afternoon.

This is now back to the extreme volatility of late last year and earlier this year. It's firmly in the grips of whales. Have look back at the intra-day swings if you doubt what I'm saying...

Croda or Elementis are two possibilities. This is just pure speculation though.

The appetite for these shares has drastically improved for the better.

@ShearClass: In terms of volume, I would say that it's not huge, but as I mentioned, it was large compared to ADV, because overall, this is a low turnover share. I would be surprised if any funds have sold though - becasue it's too late for that. There would not be the liquidity to soak up those sells.

I did a lot of research this morning to guide my decision. The main problem that I see is the possibility that they will also lose the GTR franchise as it is up for renewal *within days*. It does not bode well. I suspect the government will want a scapegoat here and they will punish the company.
