Spot on really Bot, the balance sheet will always be the main factor for 2021, yes positivity on flights help but will not play a major part in correcting the balance sheet this year.

RR have always been a cash rich company, yes they've had loans and bonds in place for many a years but never needed them and the loans/ bonds in place now will probable never be needed, "obviously" covid has created this current situation but as previous financial difficulties, 9/11 etc RR will come out of this much stronger.
As iv said many a time 2021 is a recovery year and this share will continue to just Bob along .. keeping us all guessing.

No one should be selling especially at a loss until the next results on the 5 Aug by which time they should be, if not already close to closing the deal on ITP.
if you have the cash these are the top up points not the sell points .. unless you need the cash of cause.
It was always going to bounce I just did not think it would start at 10.30 ? Normaly stays low for a while.. Very unpredictably share always has been but if you stick around long enough you will be rewarded.. IMO

Gribinator101, I think your comment's are a good summery of where RR are and will be given the current situation, and maybe after the announcement of ITP sale the stability / growth of this share price will be seen during 2022 /3 so its definitely worth having a long term hold but also look at todays situation as a possibly quick gain, as I feel it will bounce back to at least 1.12 at some point soon.

I will be ploughing a few quid in tomorrow just to sell again when it bounces, my original investment I will continue
to hold.

OK I know its from them, but its sorter where I'd see it at the moment, but I would invest now and hope the IPT deal gos through before the 5 Aug which should make the next set of results look a lot better. IMO

2021 for RR is all about stability of the finances, RR are not looking for any major changes during this year other than the sale of ITP etc, "long haul" flights are slowly increasing and business travel will grow.
2022 / 23 will be the defining years for growth and hopefully will see the biggest change for this share price, so if your not desperate to sell this year then wait for the growth during 2022/3, if you do need to sell then wait until the sale of ITP for a spike (whatever that will be).
I'm long term but also frustrated with the v slow growth, so will consider selling if and when we see any spike, but also look to re-invest for 2022.

Not sure if you still visit this chat as it looks like you sold up completely and move the lot over to Minoan, interested to understand why as you were a avid long term suporter of RR as an invester .. especially as your wife is a top manager at RR, and as you said many a time you would be holding for many years.
I have some spare cash and wondered why you made the move over to Minoan ???? Can you see a quick return, its certainly isn't a RR type of company ???

Share price needs to be stronger before the release of ITP sale, 1.15 would be great, and hopefully the sale will push it in to the 1.20is fingers crossed

We had a month of 1.02 1.03 so I'm hoping we don't go back there, and please keep the ITP sale in the bag until this is recovering around the 1.16 so we have a nice movement up to the 1.20 plus mark. (Would be nice)

All would say, sell high, buy low .. "obvious hay" and most would have liked to have sold wen it spiked at 1.35 ( first vaccine) and brought back in at 0.92, most would have liked to have sold at the spike of 1.27 and brought back in at 1.01, me included, the problem was with both these spikes, especially the second one it felt like a recovery.
We will get a third spike on the sale of ITP etc and I personally will be keeping an eye out for this one.
However I'm also long term so looking for that 2 year growth which I also feel will come.
So do you hold or do you sell and wait (hopefully) for a decent re-entry point, only you can make that choice, however after missing two spikes due to being blinkered around a long term strategy, I think I will be .. as iv said .. keeping an eye on that next spike, and re-consider my position at around the 1.27 mark :) only in my opinion!
