RE: Retail ownership8 Jan 2023 18:57
Peabody-I take your point here and it is fairly made. However, this is an interesting exercise (thanks TG333 for compiling) because with only 34 million shares in retail hands of which 8.27m (including those added today) are on this Board ,most of whom seem to be committed to the end game, we seem to have only 25.7 million shares available to be bought. Probably more like 20 million assuming not all LTHs have posted their positions on the Board.
Using our 25.7 million figure that equates to only £37.8 million of potentially available stock. This is technically very interesting indeed. As we go into commissioning and approach first production, barring any further stock issuance or black swans, HZM equity will become increasing compelling to institutions .However, a mid sized institution will require £5-10 million as a position size, so we only really have sufficient potential stock supply(unless this gets really bid up) for 4-6 medium sized new institutions. I am sure this technical position will not have been missed by Helikon as part of their extensive due diligence before buying their stake. Added to this we have finally added a full time Head of IR with strong FTSE 100 credentials which is hugely positive-lack of strong IR has been one of my personal bugbears and has historically damaged the company imho (dilution could well have been less with strong, well connected IR ensuring far better share placement prices).
So we have increasingly sound fundamentals, plus a very interesting technical situation arising. Fingers crossed things stay on plan and the rainy season is kind. GLA.
