Covid 19 Testing17 Apr 2020 21:03
Hi Guys,
I do wonder how we can sort this pandemic, but the Government say a bad test is worst than no test, but what else have we got?
Looking at the igg/igm 10 minute test kits (easy to do at home too), they are 97% accurate for Covid19, but only confirm the antibody. So, if we have people with asymptomatic or very mild infection then possibly there is not enough igg/igm to give a true response. I do suggest that they are worth rolling out so that those who show strong antibodies are therefore fairly safe to assume they are immune and can resume there work in society. We don't have any other tests just yet other than antigen tests which only show active infection.
The test kits are very cheap, around £6 to £9 quid a pop retail, probably much less when bought in bulk.
Any thoughts on this??
Inan & Ray, your thoughts on this would be most appreciated.
