That’s 6 shipments that departed before 15th March, That’s more shipments than any month this year or last! With exchange rates as they are, I’m very confident about us coming out the other side of this crisis in a stable position, and ready to expand significantly.
I’m definitely happy about the direction of travel, but still down overall, So elated would be pushing it! although my average is now lower than it was :) unfortunately I didn’t have a lot of funds to take advantage of the low prices.

Some useful information and press releases on this page, also shows covid cases in mining industry by sector and region
Hi Nick
“Certain companies and operations continue to operate on a limited basis under exemptions granted by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE). Any applications for these exemptions are made directly by the companies and not through the Minerals Council.”Ref.

Gambit thanks for your response, I view the shipping data on the Bushveld perspective web page, last lot of deliveries are dated as departing SA on 13th March, before lockdown. Is there another source showing departures after this?
Hi Alfa
Yes I’m aware of the stockpiles, but I’m not aware that we are currently getting them to market. With all this positive chatter thought I might have missed something, have I? I know that there has been general news of some mining production going to 50% output but that permissions are required, I’ve not found any information that confirms we are one of the companies that has been granted permission to resume operations. The only factor pointing towards things improving is the rising SP I’m just trying to figure out if the rise is due to sentiment based on positive assumptions or is it based on changing realities on the ground. Of course it could be neither and just that we were so ridiculously oversold
About all this positive frenzy, have we had confirmation that we are producing again? The reported V price rise is attributed to supply issues due to our reduced production so how can we be taking advantage of the rise, when we can produce and bring product back to market then the price will fall again, assuming everything else remains equal. The shipment logs all show departures prior to lockdown, Where is the evidence that we are not just on care and maintenance?
They already said guidance would be under review due to impact of covid 19. They can’t possibly know the extent of the impact at this stage as the situation remains fluid. I would not expect any guidance update.
Paul Murphy it’s an interesting paper, I think the take away is there experimental design shows promise but can’t yet compete with vrfb due to voltage drop. If the electrode design etc can be improved then potentially a similarly efficient battery could be made using cheaper materials than vanadium. But that breakthrough has not yet been made, if it every will be. It definitely won’t be a market ready product short term.
There is a lot of energy storage research and it may be that some technology will turn out to be better/cheaper than vrfb in the long run, but we are involved in market ready safe products at a time of growing need, with growing V production underpinned by the steel market at a time that’s likely to see huge construction growth stimulus packages. So personally I’m not to concerned about this potential future competitor at this time. But appreciate you sharing your research.
Private Jones are you going to quantify your statement in any way or shall we just ignore you?
Very happy to see this moving up with the general market. Long way to go to get back to break even, so hard to get excited!
Wind solar and hydro shouldn’t be impacted a lot unless prices are heavily impacted by demand. There may be delays in construction of new sites and potentially there could be parts issues I guess. But Maintenance wind farm teams have been identified as key workers, my mate is skipper on transfer vessel and they are sanitising the ship 5 times a day. I’d like to see large scale BESS projects integrated into the grid to balance the network without need for fossil generation.
Stob RNS today states they are having trouble fulfilling biomass orders due to reduction in activity
Think it’s more related showing improvements in cv numbers as a result of social distancing, market is seeing light at end of the tunnel
Company is in growth stage after which it will move into cash cow stage and divis will be forthcoming
Great find thanks nick, always nice to hear an upbeat promotion, I really like the ambition
Bubbles are you aware of what’s happened with the banks
Wagamammas not doing deliveries currently
1335 and only trade here today is mine, very quiet
Alfa I was actually referring to Bess tender
