TRANSPORTATION OF OIL AND NATURAL GAS
i) Ruvuma Nursery (Ntorya)
157. Honorable Speaker, the Government through TPDC has continued with various efforts with the aim of increasing the availability of natural gas in the country where the Government, TPDC and the investor of the Ruvuma Block which has approximately Trillion Cubic Feet 1.6 have completed negotiations and signed the Additional Natural Gas Agreement (Gas Addendum) on November 25, 2022. Development of natural gas in The block will provide access to approximately 40 to 60 million cubic feet per day starting with approximately 140 million cubic feet per day during production high (full field production) will be reached.
158. Honorable Speaker, Negotiation of the Gas Sales Agreement Agreement - GSA) between TPDC and the investor is in the final stages. In addition, TPDC in collaboration with the investor are continuing the preparations
construction of a 35 km long pipeline from Ntorya to the factory to process Madimba natural gas. Currently, the Government has completed the valuation of the properties of the citizens who will be compensated for passing the pipe developer where 255 citizens have been compensated. Also, TPDC and the investor continue to complete
Development Plan (Development Plan) of the gas that will facilitate gas production from the Ntorya Block by the end of the year 2024.
193. Mr. Speaker, the Government continued to manage the implementation of the Participation Policy
of Tanzanians in the Subsector of Oil and Gas where on the part of EACOP project a total of 1,969 Tanzanians were employed through direct employment one and 160 Tanzanians were employed for seismic data collection
3D system in Ruvuma Nursery. In addition, until April, 2023, a total of 134.6 million US dollars equal to 313.14 billion shillings were spent in the purchase of goods and services from the local market.
276. Honorable Speaker, the Government through PURA will continue to manage oil and natural gas exploration activities in Kilosa-Kilombero Blocks, Tanga, Ruvu, Nyuni Area, Blocks No. 1, 2 and 4. In addition, PURA will continue to manage the activities of development and production in Ruvuma Nurseries (Ntorya), Songo Songo and
Nazi Bay. The goal is to ensure that the companies carry out their activities in accordance with the Agreements. Appendix No. 12 shows the Map of Blocks Exploration and Development of Land and Sea Areas.
