Not quite sure what the reaction will be. The share has gone up considerably in anticipation of great results and these are good but not great. I am preparing to be disappointed.

One would expect that in truth, still a very healthy 6% over 2 days

Nice of you to ask, I most certainly am with you and in fact increased my holding when it dropped below £2 recently. Well invested now and showing a healthy paper profit thanks mainly to you.

I have listened to the debate on here and will not sell below 2.50 when I will chop 1/4 of my stake.

Today’s rise really suggests how quickly this could motor with a great set of results. Fingers crossed.

I did yes, at around 1.70 and haven’t sold. Bought shares not spread bet, so I can hold for longer. In fact I have been meaning to thank you all and Rupans in particular for persuading me to buy back in. I am delighted with the speed of recovery, though I suspect we will get a pull back today. ATB

I’ve gone the other way and bought back in 81, having sold a tranche in the mid 80’s. Classic broker misdirect to get plenty of sellers and share price down. Will buy another batch at 78 should it get there, but don’t think it will

Finally before I am rightly accused of hogging the board, what are peoples views of the FTSE at around 9000? Is it sustainable or do you see a fall?

BTW, I did move my Saga money into IAG and did really well there, so maybe not that bad a strategy after all!

Quite right Thomson, this is very much against my strategy, but it is an exception based on many of the comments here and my view. The previous trades were all spread bets and thus short term. The holding costs prevent a long term view. Profit banked. I am buying shares this time and will hold for 6 months and see what transpires. Hope for 2.50 for another bail out! I was delighted to make some money here previously hence the sells, but I have a feeling that long term Saga might be quite a success story.

Either way, it cannot be said to be a triumph to sell at 1.60 and buy back at 1.69! Still, if they rise to £2 and above, why worry.

True, Rupans, but my “success” was cast against a background of abject failure with Saga. And, in fact, a few souls kept pressing me to quantify my efforts, which I steadfastly refuse to do. Anyway, if I’m out of order, sorry.

I would be happy to be back but even 1.65 breaks my self-imposed rules. Really can’t bring myself to buy in the 1.70’s let alone the 1.90 it recently reached.

I agree with Select, too many chiefs. I notice we are dropping again, might be tempted back at 1.65 if it falls that far. BTW, Alnwick, if you are rich enough to make millions, please don’t boast. Nothing more tedious than the wealthy gloating about how successful they are.

88p to trim, 1.00 to sell out

Did anyone follow my IAG tip, I just sold out with a 14% profit, balances what I missed out on Saga to some degree.

Sadly that boat has sailed, but I do still have my original investment at an average of £3.55, which i written down to nil, just in case. Will i ever break even on that and if so, when, answer me that!

No, failed again, was looking for 1.60 but it never came. Did pile into IAG at 3.07 and hoping for a quick 10% profit. I guess I will have to admit defeat with Saga, but I did bank a handy sum along the way. Hope it goes sky high tomorrow for all you long term holders.
