Am I the only one who forecast this fall? I did say it would drop to 120 and I still think it has a bit further to fall maybe to 115 ish. Truth is, nobody trusts the management to do a good deal. Until we see hard evidence of progress we are stuck between 110 and 140. As Rogue put it, we are all fed up with hearing about difficult trading conditions. They are on big bucks to find ways round problems.

A friend of mine made a huge amount of money in the 80’s and 90’s trading “reverse broker”. If they advised sell he bought and vice versa. Still holds good I reckon, so I have dived in at 142.5 and hope to make a quick 5-10%.

Couldn’t agree more. Between these fatuous guesses (some even wait to Monday lunchtime to see how the price has moved!) and trading insults, we have degenerated into a steaming pile of…. I used to dread Fleccy’s long ramblings, now I look forward to them as he actually does some proper analysis. As to Vodafone itself, I believe we are close to the bottom, but any rise will be long drawn out. If we could offload Germany though… Probably pie in the sky in truth.

Yes they were, Thomson, overall the policy of see a profit and take it has worked well, eg Vodafone, BT, Lloyds, but of course if the share keeps rising I get locked out, eg Lloyds IAG. Still have my purchases at 1.22 and 1.30 here and I will sell the former if we reach 1.42

However we stack it up, if we believe they have solved the refinance issue AND delivered sound/good results and a positive update, the 5p increase in SP is pitiful. Is this all we can hope for? Any pie in the sky dreams of £4.00 can be extinguished. We are stuck trading between 1.15 and 1.45 for the foreseeable future.

I would like to add one question to your excellent summary. Do people feel that there is any need/desire to do a sale and leaseback of the ships?

Sadly a rather tepid and predictable response from the market. Either they don’t see what we see or more worryingly vice versa.

An excellent analysis Rogue. I think the initial reaction will be disappointing followed by a steady increase to about 1.30 where we will sit until a deal is done on the ships. Potential upside is far greater than downside which is why I am staying in. I will continue trading the share with some of my holding along the way.
