Good to see a few doses of reality, finally a balanced assessment of the shambles that Saga has become through inept and over rewarded management. Time they sold insurance or travel and focussed on one side of the business. There is very little synergy between the two in any case and even Roger has been found lacking. Unless they get a grip soon, Saga is dead and buried. Sorry to be negative again, but I can see no light and a long tunnel.

Doubt it would be North of 1.60 though. Who would turn it down?

I agree with you Bat, I also read a few posts by Diandto, he started selling at 2.00 and predicted the falls. I would be very well off if I had followed his advice, although I did sell up a while ago. I am targeting 75p to make a small buy fwiw.

Can they pull the same trick, call for more cash and consolidate the shares? Nothing would surprise me. Please note that the influence of RdH has not helped the general malaise. All in all, it’s a very badly run company which should be successful but isn’t.

Last point for now, beware a horrible result from the insurance side. I don’t think cruises/travel are the problem here.

Let me give you the reply from the Board. Trading has been difficult due to circumstances beyond our control. however we feel positive for the future with our current strategy showing promising signs. yawn.

Well said Billzo. When will reality dawn on the posters here. saga is in trouble, and the management is far more interested in their pay schemes than streamlining the business. So much for Sir Roger’s involvement. I really thought when it rose to 1.80 recently that the worst was over. Wrong. Back into the 140’s and I fear that it will drop to 1.00 in the next month or so. I hope not for everyone’s sake.

One of the fundamentals of good investment is to back firms with good management. Sadly Saga is not one of them. I got out at 1.75, and should have shorted but missed the chance. Will sell into any serious rally.

Share price down 4% should give us a clue.
