The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I'm more aligned with Casapinos. I initially thought Char was simply attention seeking, but with narcissistic tendencies: repeating the same message over and over again, claiming 'you'll all fall into my line of thinking', 'I was right about VOD etc', 'I'm usually right', 'I do my own thing' etc. It's all about Char not RDSB, hence my assessment of narcissism. Whilst others have predicted a more optimistic outlook for RDSB I don't recall a huge number of posters arguing with him/her although some challenged the thought process of: company A slashed its dividend and its share price didn't recover, so the same applies to every other company. It's not an unreasonable challenge.
On a related note, I would be interested in hearing how the slashed dividend is the damaging factor to the SP. The SP had already dived down to around 1300 due to covid impact, prior to the 30 Apr 20 announcement of the reduced dividend. Post-announcement the SP did drop further but has recovered to around the same levels of 1300s now?!?
The purchasing of RDSA instead of RDSB is a mistake a more savvy investor might have avoided. I would certainly expect them to work it out and rectify the issue within 18 years! Char is now stating his/her predictions for the SP peak this year, made around 2 months ago, are 'optimistic in the extreme', in fact he/she has predicted a bleak outlook and points out there are better investments elsewhere... yet remains invested. Surely, a more savvy investor, with extensive experience of VOD, SBY, TSCO etc would have anticipated the bleak RDSB... sorry RDSA future, and sold up as soon as the slashed dividend announcement was made. If not then, surely now with a bleak future prediction and other better opportunities out there to maximise gains or recoup losses?
None of the above really points to the actions of someone who 'gets most right', more someone who is full of it and likes the attention, which sadly I'm helping to feed.
Subtle deramp attempt claiming upside is 70s!!!
Evening Char. You are at pains to remind us (in pretty much every e-mail) of your previous foresight of other large companies that slashed dividends, and the subsequent seemingly irrecoverable demise of their SP. You have used that same foresight on RDS and claim there are many other better options out there. It appears RDS is a busted flush.
With your foresight, your bleak future assessment and your analysis identifying better alternate investments, you would be batsh*t crazy to remain invested. I can only assume that you no longer have a position in RDS?
In which case, I politely request you stop your gloating 'told you so' e-mails at us poor sods that remain invested. I'm not a fan of 'cancel culture' but it seems a little unreasonable you continue with your 'told you so' e-mails aimed at RDS investors, who have done you no harm, when you seem to hold a gripe against VOD investors previously who previously ignored you.
No worries. Understandable you missed the subtle humour as it appeared I was being a bit of a dick with you.
Fallingknife I hope you spotted my attempt at humour - first letter of each sentence.
Clearly you think it is funny to make jokes of the current situation
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
My own is that it isn't funny.
Each to their own as I say.
Now...
Time to buy more STCM at these discounted prices.
Thanks folks, I'm here all week ;)
Plus if I'm reading correct a proposed dividend of 2.5p. I suspect many anticipated higher.

I agree it gets a little boring once you've read it over and over again. Char pats himself/herself on the back every time the SP doesn't rise steeply or falls claiming he/she had predicted this. Funny that, a SP not rising as much as we'd like or even falling - I always thought they went up in a linear straight line?!?
For the analysts out there that believe RDS is linked to the price of oil, global economics, world politics, the drive for cleaner energy etc, I'm afraid to tell you you're at best only partly right. That goes for the chartists too. The reality is any downward movement of RDS SP is directly correlated to Vodafone's decline from £2 several years ago.
For those that need to be added, simply highlight the list in the previous e-mail, then 'copy it' [press Ctrl and the C button], and paste [press Ctrl and the V button] into your response, adding your prediction.

According to Dividendmax today is the declaration date for the dividend. With the elevated SP I'm intrigued as to what the dividend will be this year.
