I'd say, with doxorubicin being such a well characterised drug, that's a definite possibility. Roll on Phase 2!

It's not enough to have a filter for individuals. There needs to be a filter for threads started by those individuals. Very, very few people add absolutely nothing to the BB and DITRA is one of them.

Everyone will have their own opinion of course but "Avacta ... will host a Science Day for City analysts and fund managers ... to discuss recent progress within the Company's Therapeutics Division and hear from selected key opinion leaders in the field of oncology" means the KOLs will be there to comment on the progress of and implications for Avacta's various programmes as well as providing an independent view on the current and future state of cancer treatment - issues, problems, directions, etc - to the City boys who will have varying degrees of knowledge about the sector. Broad and 'impartial' comment (unless they are our KOLs on retainers, of course).

@13thmonkey, what timeframe are you considering for that MCAP? Do you think the SP (and hence the MCAP) will shoot up directly to what Avacta is worth or do you think it will happen in stages, in which case what are the triggers for the stages and what would the corresponding MCAPs be?

I can only presume that the good news implicit in the RNS has gone straight over most people's heads because it it implicit, not explicit.

1 The Science Day has been flagged since June, to cover all Therapeutics activities. There's actually nothing in the RNS to say Phase 1a has finished. Emerging doesn't mean final. But, as previously intended for Science Day, details of Phase 1b are likely to be given. Whether Phase 1a continues with a further dose escalation is a possibility.

Totally agree with points 2 and 3, which together very strongly suggest the data is very good.

I think StarBright is just being realistic - and very sensibly so. The outcome of Phase 1a can certainly be expected to be very good but it's not a 0% or 100% outcome; there are bound to be unanswered questions (not asked on the trial) and new questions coming from the trial (for example, what's the best administration regimen?)

The traders and shorters however are onto a loser however with the "This only says it's safe" line. As if it's safe to administer huge doses of doxorubicin, monitored for pharmacokinetics, but the doxorubicin has become magically inactive! Arf! Arf!

Avacta absolutely certain that conclusions, with presentation and media blitz can be released shortly after New Year.

Key opinion leaders have full diaries (as do City analysts and fund managers) but Avacta has been persuasive and has lined them up for late February.
