AS has changed the scale - doesn't look so good, but is better21 Jun 2023 07:51
Previously, a 'standard' doxorubicin dose was given as 60mg/m² which is why the initial 80mg/m² of AVA6000 was said to be 90% of the 'standard' dose and all calculations of the amount of doxorubicin equivalent were calculated on the basis of {AVA6000 dose} x 54/80 and then quoted by us here as a multiple of the 60mg/m².
However, today, Alan has changed the scale.
310mg/m² is 310x54/80 = 209.25mg/m² doxorubicin equivalent and that is 3.48 times the 60mg/m² dose. However the RNS says "equivalent to 2.7 times the standard dose of doxorubicin".
Well... 209.25mg/m² is 2.79 times the highest administrable dose of doxorubicin, which is 75mg/m² (and 6 x 75 = 450, the maximum lifetime cumulative dose of doxorubicin).
And, to check, the previous dose of 250mg/m² is 168.75mg/m² doxorubicin equivalent, which is 2.25 times the 75mg/m² dose of doxorubicin - the figure given in the RNS for the previous dose.
So... compared to what has gone before, even better than the comparisons with standard doxorubicin look!
