Thank you for a thoughtful and objective opinion, with which I generally agree despite the fact that it is 51 years since I was a medical student! The data speak for themselves; ditto the statistical analyses. The only reservation I have relates to the randomisation to the study and control groups. By chance it turns out that there are excesses of diabetic, cardiovascular and BAME subjects in the control group compared to the study group. ThIS can happen with randomisation. IT doesn’t invalidate the results as reported but could give regulators the basis to ask for more work. Against this is the pressing need for solutions to a global problem. Overall I think that this is a realLy promising prospect and the material looks to be safe but there may be some caution on the part of regulators to be overcome..
