Not what the latest blurb ( see above) says. It appears to be a bidding war between GVC/Amaya on the one side and 888 on the other. Ironic I have GVC and 888 but the interesting end is Bwin on the receiving end. I did say yesterday that 888 was on the warpath.

Wikipaedia has the definition wrong! So here goes. A reverse take over is when a smaller company takes over a larger (usually much larger) company. Thos means that they have to find the necessary money to do so by for example having the cash already (unlikely), borrowing it raising it by issuing additional shares by a placing or rights issue. They must be pretty sure that what they are doing is worth while. But now it looks like a competition which is good news for the targets share holders. Hope this helps a bit.

Suggest you research it yourself eg Wikipaedia which will explain it far better than I can. BUT my spies tell me that a counter bid is coming tomorrow from888 which I am also invested in.

Hi John. What a life story. Fascinating. Makes a change to find someone articulate and urbane. 1987 - that was a disaster for me too. The number of times I get things wrong today too. Polly Peck - that was Nadir I think who fled to Northern Cyprus but came back recently to clink. Shall take a look at Sphere - you and Woodford cannot both be wrong. We are not like other Brits here. Cannot seem to learn the language but make friends with Italians rather than other Brits who are snooty, live on hillsides with masses of vineyards, olives etc. however have recently met a very nice down to earth Scots woman from Aberdeenshire married to an Italian. we are going to her grandson's christening soon. I live in Italy most of the time in a town house in Umbria. Very relaxing although the bureaucracy is something else! Your memories interesting. I think GVC look good for the long term although the sp has stalled for now. Quarterly and special divs continue to make some happiness.

You obviously do not know how a reverse takeover works. The yield will be much the same.

Read Morning Star 24 March article not numbered. Quite positive on results apart from tax situation. I bought for bid prospects which idea I think you share. Also since have found the U.S. interest which is significant owing to on line gambling being banned in quite a few stars, and this Gibraltar based company has attracted much institutional US support. Today on TV the Giro again saw large banner type adverts for 888 casino in Genoa. I believe this is a good thing.

Watched Giro D'Italia on TV yesterday. Excellent ad from 888 for their new Italian business only been up and running a fortnight I think. Italians great punters on sporting events.

I am afraid you are out of kilter. Earnings for the year declared 24 March so nothing else due until June. Ex div 16 April, Annual Report was published 24 March, AGM is on 14 May. Last year half yearly results 27 August. Currently from Smerican Bankers News av recommendations from 8 brokerages, 1 sell, 3 hold, 4 buy. Amazing it is covered so well from US. Remember it is a Gibraltar based company where the rules are different.

Looking good 6000 buys no sells. Chart strong getting back to that earlier peak. Even my 32Red which plunged up again; hope it was a blip, fundamentals just the same.
