Inflation is partly to blame with businesses wherein the assets form a large proportion of the operating cost and these are financed through debt, are always going to struggle when the cost of servicing that debt rises.

It wasn't just inflation though, on our last TU we made a net loss and the announcement of the disposal of part of the NA school busses to deleverage. The board gave this a positive spin, but image that the business is selling assets to cover debts is quite a bad one.

I do think this will improve once rates begin to drop, but, we certainly aren't out of the woods yet....

90 billion USD for Shein is ridiculous! The revenue forecast has literally just been extrapolated on a linear basis, then with all the slave labour claims on top. Powder keg of an IPO.

This board has recently become civil for the first time since I've been here, so can we not spoil that please :)

I think people have been getting far too carried away here over recent days personally, but at the same time, I can kind of understand it after the year(s) of doom and gloom, both in the figures and people on here re 'going to 20p, going to 14p,etc'. Yes the current SP is a shadow of what it once was, but that the SP has been reasonably resilient is cause for a little elation i think.

Lets all hope that this is finally some green shoots around the charred ashes of once was BOOs SP and not just a dead cat bounce. GLA!

That they manufacture in the UK boggles my mind honestly and I am surprised they haven't moved this to India. I disagree with the Chinese argument though, political uncertainty aside, the population have becoming slightly richer than their other Asian counterparts, with the exception of South Korea and Taiwan. I believe India and Vietnam have been taking some share of this low manufacturing away from China due to their lower cost of production, moreover, they don't have as severe aging population problems also. China are still no1 simply due to the shear size of the global manufacturing GDP they provide, however, they have been slowing.

I cant say I know if the Kamani's still have ties with India, but if they do then this would be a perfect strategy. We would probably also receive less bad press with the out of sight out of mind mentality we have to working conditions globally.

Pedro - I entered Boo late-22 in the mid30s at which point you weren't posting so I have no idea of whether you were calling it before then. All I am posting here is a warning here of your bad antics. Practically every day reasonable people were asking you to shut up because of the mass spam, reasonable takes being drowned out by the same message worded slightly different every day, then picking fights with people. All - I was debating whether to post this as I don't want to bring drama to this board which is quite civil, but I would advise blocking Pedro. He was a serial poster on BooHoo spamming the board with the same messages, hundreds of posts a month. He recently stopped, we presume either exited his short or was given a warning by LSE. His usual MO is to spam and then argue and be rude in tit for tat arguments. Just don’t engage him, its not worth it.

For what it’s worth my average is £0.82 here, but only due to some recent large averaging down.

I honestly don’t see how this gets any better in the short term. We may seems some gains from the asset sales as mentioned since the second hand vehicle market is silly high at the moment and is thus likely higher than the depreciated book valued.

That said, rates aren’t going anywhere anytime soon and business where the assets represent a proportionately high cost of business and those assets are debt financed are going to suffer. In addition, the UK business appears to be very easily subject to strikes at the moment since the unions understand the current high cost of not doing business and effectively have them in a stranglehold.

I think long term, this is a great buy, but short term, I think there is still pain to come.

Also yes – shame about the divi cut, but it was the right choice long term.

Yes, I feel you are probably right, it is the volatile AIM stocks that feel more like gambling and attract the more sensational posters. I swear that half the reason I want a BOO recovery is so that I can exit, remove this board from my bookmarks and have an easier life :’)

SCB - This is very much me and I don't know why BOO seems to sap so much of my attention for a small position (approx 2% of portfolio). I suppose because there was/is so much drivel posted on here, it pulls me in to post more here. Virtually, all other boards I have are sensible, and get a few posts a day max outside of earnings days. BOO baord was/is a constant drama train.

Simon - Any idea on how long these things usually take? Providing no settlement from the outset then I would assume a few years going through the legal system re the complexities of a group litigation? I have no experience on this front so feel free to correct me on my assumption here.

I am just trying to gauge how long this will remain a contingent in the background.

No mate, but the rule is something like the minimum price offer must be the highest SP over the last 12 months. It is likely it would have some premium on it for it to be accepted, though it is worth noting that MA has a history of quite ruthless deals.

This is true, however, we do not know his intentions. He could happily build it up to 29.5% and sit on it. He could wait 6 months to see if the SP has improved if so take some capital gains profits or if not buy some more and put an offer in for like 40p region re the minimum 12 months price rule. Frasers may not purchase anymore at all, its all speculation.

Regardless, I think there is a lot of upside for vulture capitalists like MA at the moment.

PP1 - A serious question and not necessarily linked to BOO, but, if you are happy with a company's fundamentals and the market tanks for more macro reasons, why not average down?

I tend to agree on the sentiment of not averaging down in normal macro conditions, but when there is mass fear out there and many valuations are quite cheap, then why not see it as a sale providing your continue to be ok with the fundamentals? It may go down more, but I generally believe that trying to time the market is a fools game, and averaging up and down into positions you want is the way to go.

I've never understood the practise of legal action against your own investment. As a shareholder you hold a % of the company assets, so your taking legal action against your own assets?

They have repeatedly said that the revenue would be loaded into H2 as per the usual seasonal variation in the advertising industry.

I feel like if the revenue was rear loaded into the FY than they would be keen to announce the results and reverse some of the doom and gloom. That there has been no mention of the Q3 results worries me and it is clear that the market is sharing this worry, I think.

T4G was either booted, or he capitulated and just deleted his account. Agree on it not being healthy. I can imagine if he was booted then there is a new account here saying similar MM manipulation things. Hopefully though he has distanced himself.

Regardless, this board has been so much better since they both shut up.

I see Pedro ramping over at Mobico group. It's dropped a further 60% since he started ramping over there.....could of happened to a nicer guy
