Write to your local MP, The DHSC, Javid, Johnson etc today12 Aug 2021 08:50
As the company says today revenue growth year-on-year excluding any revenues in either year from the Department of Health and Social Care ("DHSC") was 138% reflecting the strong underlying performance of the business. This is brilliant and very good news. However, the UK Govt needs to be called out for some disgraceful non-paying of bills when you read the following statement issued in the results today:
"The lack of payment has already had significant implications for Abingdon, a Northern Powerhouse company, and its employees and, due to the need to contain costs and manage cash, the Company's workforce has reduced from 190 to 130 employees over the past four months with a number of valued employees having to be made redundant. The pressure on cash flow will increase the longer that payment by DHSC is outstanding. As a small UK company that stepped up to support the UK Government when asked and a Company that has no political affiliations at all it feels that the only people directly affected by the judicial review process are Abingdon's employees, investors and other stakeholders".
It is time as shareholders to take action and write, text, email, phone, tweet etc our local MP's, the private and permanent secretaries of Savid Javid, Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak etc plus the business and health editors of the major media outlets and draw this to their attention. Enough is enough. The UK Govt is talking up building up Britain but doing the opposite with their questionable contract awards. .g. £3.2 billion to you know who and many others that are coming to light.
When our Chairman Dr Chris Hand says the following, below, you know it is the time to step up as shareholders and write as many letters to the Gov't and the media as possible today and over the next few weeks.
"This has been a year of tremendous effort by employees of Abingdon Health as we stepped up to what was asked of us at a time of national emergency. Some of our employees have unfortunately lost their jobs as a direct consequence of the DHSC not paying for products they have taken delivery of, are using and told us were passed for payment in January 2021. I apologise to those colleagues who have left the Company".
This is an outrageous situation for those staff made redundant because of the DHSC non payment. Our business is being impacted by Govt mandarins who need to be called out for hurting a UK business which stepped up to the plate when asked. I will be writing as many letters as possible today. Please do the same.
Good luck, Brighty
