The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
I'm quite sure Sterling Trusts administrators must settle their decisions by October and I don't see them accepting an offer below 3p for sure...5p most likely. Either way..the buyer will need to offer to take all the shares and therefore a sure capital gain in this tax year . Purely my opinion. Do your own research
Don't get excited guys...just me moving 1,000,000 shares to ISA ! Buy back at .1504 shows as a sell ! Not 2 million shares up for grabs..just waiting for the big move and keep the profit away from the taxman !
Another factor to take into account is the 20% depreciation of Sterling against USD ? As the loans to Eds were made in USD surely this will also have an upward effect on the net asset value ?
Good afternoon , all I suggested many months ago that PI's should consider calling an EGM . Happy to look at this again . My email address is tslfxt at aol dot com However , I am delighted to see some action since we have had a new Director appointed . But the future strategy of the company remains a mystery although the most recent RNS did say regarding the turbines that there had been circumstances - prejudicing Rurelec's future ability to realise two of its major assets. This implies to me that they are intending to sell the turbines - quite why this hasn't already happened at the behest of Ethos in any case , I am baffled. We need to progress to a conclusion sooner rather than later for all concerned as we do appear to be wasting the small resource available to Rurelec and incurring credit card rates of interest without any vision for the future.
It never ceases to amaze me how often , just towards the end of the day , we get a small 'sell' of under GBP 100. ! Rurelec has a shareholder base of 300-400 and is quite thinly traded. I would be really curious to know who has been agonising all day to sell his/her 6137 shares to get back their 60 odd pounds ?
Hi, Optimist Sent you an email . Can you let me know if you get it
Hi, Optimist...yes indeed...the 100,000 @ 1.04 was a buy...mine...averaging down
Interesting mention in one of the penny share sheets.... Finally, if you’d like to look at a (typically more conservative) utility play there are couple worth considering – both of which have appreciated rapidly recently, having traded towards the bottom of their five year range in recent months. They’re Mytrah Group (which has an AIM-listed subsidiary) and Rurelec. Both are focussed on bringing power to the developing world. Mytrah is a developer of Indian wind power, and Rurelec has a mixture of fossil and hydropower with a concentration in South America. Utilities are inherently cash-generative, having little of the technology risk of the intellectual-property plays we’ve discussed above. However, do check out the debt loading for any firms that interest you – it’s always possible for an overgeared utility to drown in its own debt.
I wonder if the statutory demands are a tactic to try and get Sterling's administrators to accept a low ball offer for their shares ? And its curious to note that Sterling Trust still owns ,as far as reported anyway , 31,794,106 shares in IPSA Group ? And unless he has been disposing of his holdings Peter Earl was last reported as having 7,000,000 shares in Rurelec ? Anyone have any opinions about what is going on ?
Bought 200,000 shares @0.0080 but reported as a sell....so the 75,000 below at a higher price must be a buy also !
Hi, All...Interesting trade today .. 323 shares ? Is this a code by MM ? Or is this the small seller who has persisted in trying to keep the sp down ? Will this influence Sterling Trusts administrators to accept a low ball offer ? I doubt it ! They are sufficiently well versed in assessing the vlaue of assets that they will not be swayed by movements like this in the share price . It would be good to hear from the newly appointed Finance guru .
Clearly Simon Morris and PS are not happy with this appointment. The RNS seems to concentrate on the failings of the appointee rather than any positives ! It's obvious this indicates the administrators of Sterling are not happy with the present arrangements ..ie Rurelec is surviving on a loan seemingly associated with a company that Simon Morris ( the only decision maker at Rurelec ? ) was involved with. And that loan secured against Rurelec's assets ! What would happen if the loan is called in ? With their own appointee now advising on finance are we going to see some kind of initiative to reflect the true value of the company ? And an improvement in cash flow...? We shall see
Dear All, I had every intention to attend but was unable due to a sudden health issue. Did any of our group attend ! Or know of anyone who did ?
If the bid is 0.70 and the last two trades were at .0.82 and .84 ...surely they must be buys and not sells ! !
Hi, All...the system continues to report "buys" as "sells" ..I , for one . topped up with 202,858 - a buy ..NOT a sell at just under 0.85 - and I can see a further supposed 'sell' of 200,000 at a similar price !!! I will be attending the AGM. If any holders have specific questions to raise I will try and do so , if there is an opportunity to question the BOD . I have emailed all of you who contacted me - so please check emails - any comments / views / etc. are appreciated
Jeddicat , did you see a 150,000 sell on Monday ? If so ..it has not shown on the RUR shares trade record on LSE and also I made a 100,000 purchase on Monday ...not shown either ? I wonder if there has been another transaction ? In the sale of the Sterling block ! And the suspension is a prelude to an offer ?
Also - lost my list of email addresses ! If you dont have an email today - please email me t s l f x t at aol dot com Thanks
Apologies to all ...I will send out an email to all today
Hi, all And my buy at 14.40 of 100,000 shares is also reported as a sell. ,,,,!,,,
Would there be an obligation under the takeover rules for whoever acquires the 54% Streling Trust block to make an offer to the remaining shareholders ? The offer would have to be the highest sp over the past 90 days ? Is this the reason that the sp is being supressed ? Look at the chart and we see 1.7p about 80 days ago ! and well below ever since !
