The financial year ends on 31 March 2013. The very first sentence in the RNS is "The Group has continued to trade strongly and remains on track to achieve monthly break even by the early part of the financial year." I think it is of the greatest significance that they put that sentence in the RNS at the very beginning. Anyone not in when BES announces profitability will be missing out on a significant upside swing IMVHO.
From ADVFN petersinthemarket 28 Jan'14 - 19:39 - 777 of 790 2 0 REF: ''petersinthemarket,24 Jan'14,761,I'm a bit puzzled by BES reporting....'' It may be of interest to holders to know that I emailed a version of the above to BES and today received a most courteous reply from Don Goulding, Executive Chairman. ''I can confirm that we plan to give an update regarding Christmas trading covering the period October to December. However we do not plan on quarterly reporting simply because we are relatively small and therefore tightly resourced. I trust you understand. Our update should be issued shortly and I would welcome your feedback on the information contained therein. Kind regards..... Don'' Must say I'm very impressed with BES investor relations. Bodes well. GL all, pete

This is where I got my stash from, they seem to be the cheapest. They have rum on here for £3,500 a bottle if you fancy :-O http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/C-339.aspx
Chumba, have you averaged down since 9p?
CFU fund raising news is out today. They wanted £10.7m to £14m and got £3.2m, so a complete flop as expected. Aussie holders only took a third of the minimum they could have taken. UK holders took under a quarter. Potentially they are doomed now, as they appear to have run out of options for fund raising and have that £5m loan hanging over them. http://www.investegate.co.uk/ceramic-fuel-cells/rns/results-of-share-purchase-plan-and-overseas-offer/201312270700164339W/

(This is not up to date, something like 2007) "Spain has a spirits market of approx. 23M 9-litre cases. It is the largest gin-drinking country in Europe with a total market (imported and domestically produced) of some 3.2 Million cases 1, this having reduced from approx. 6M cases in 1990.The gin market is dominated by domestic brands, which account for some 75% of sales. Spain and the UK together account for 57% of gin sales in Europe. 1 Spain, which imports nearly 5M LPA of UK produced gin at a Customs value of £36.5M, is our second largest market in the world and the largest in Europe." "The UK is the principal land for gin as well as whisky. The UK is the home of London gin. And second the UK is the largest exporter of gin in the world with approximately 70% of production worth £200M going overseas to some 180 countries around the world." If Diageo bought Blackwoods it could integrate the manufacturing into it's factory in Scotland ;-) ;-) "Diageo is the second largest producer and owner of Tanqueray, Gordons and Gilbeys. Their premium gins are distilled at Cameron Bridge in Scotland whereas others are produced in a number of countries around the world including India and USA. They also own the rights to other gins such as Booths and Boords." http://www.ginvodka.org/factsheets/world.asp Gin sales surge in Spain PUBLISHED: FEBRUARY 12, 2013 http://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2013/02/12/gin-sales-surge/ Distillers mix up new 'gin craze,' as a taste of the 18th century enjoys a revival in London's pubs 19 December 2013 London's recent gin renaissance is poised to gather fresh momentum in 2014, echoing the 18th century ‘Gin Craze’. That might well be where we sell our developed brands to. Don would know how much Diageo have paid for brands in the past and he can target that kind of price with the Blavod brands performance. Don Goulding Executive Chairman Joined the Blavod Board mid 2010 as Non-Executive Director moving to Non-Executive Chairman in February 2011 and Executive Chairman in November 2011. Previously held both UK and international senior management roles with Diageo including Managing Director Diageo UK from 1998, following five years in Spain as Managing Director UD Iberia (Diageo) other roles included positions based in various overseas markets and Global Brand Boards for Smirnoff and Tanqueray-Gordon and Chairman of The Portman Group.
