RE: Warning20 Aug 2024 11:15
Totally agree crl123. I have also been in this for a long time. However, I would be foolish (as stated in a previous recent post) not to take advantage of such a predictable event to reduce my average and increase the number of shares that I have. My shareholding was not as substantial as a few on here but it did run into the tens of thousands of shares.
I am now totally out with the last batch sold yesterday.
I will come back in over the next few weeks when we get back down to a realistic price for this share. That is a lot less than where we are now, and I predict this will happen again and again!
The recent spike was ridiculous when you take a deep breath and look at the actual facts.
This is not covid! The transmission requires close contact. Even if it was a major opportunity for testing, Novacyt are only one of a number of suppliers with a test, and that has a significant lead time for supply. The opportunity is there for a modest number of sales as part of a pretty good and diverse range of products and services, but that is it.
In my opinion, the company has been poorly run and the marketing is atrocious (and the dispute was both unfortunate and costly both financially and reputation wise, not to mention wasted management time) but Novacyt does have expertise in innovation and developing product and money in the bank (at the moment). I do share some of the concerns from the more knowledgeable commentators on here about the cost base, but still believe that there is a good company under it all.
Anyway, just my opinion and each to their own. GLA
