Who has precise, rapid tests that can be performed hundreds of times per hour at airports = Novacyt with its direct to pcr test and transportable mini laboratories
On Tuesday June 16, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has issued new COVIDE-19 test guidelines for air transport, with the agency advocating the use of accurate, rapid tests that can be performed hundreds of times by hour in busy airports.
Dr. David Powell, medical advisor for IATA, provided updates on how airlines may meet their recommended guidelines for COVIDE-19 testing in the future at the weekly press briefing from the organization on the pandemic. United Airlines has added a self-assessment to its pre-flight boarding process in its mobile app.
"We know we have looked at tests to facilitate air travel in two areas. The first is that we can make the fight itself safer by testing before the flight and the second is that we can use the tests to reduce the chances of importing someone whose infectious on an international flight ”, said Powell.
Other considerations for airlines include who will administer the test and verify the results, since most airlines do not have medical experts on staff and are readily available to conduct such tests at airports.
IATA believes that verification and testing should be managed by a public health, therapeutic, or
scientific body .

IATA called on governments to implement COVIDE-19 tests to allow travelers obtain test results quickly, accurately and on a large scale.
In addition, the tests must be cost-effective and not create an economic or logistical barrier to
travel.
