A merchant code is allocated to each merchant thso if the provide any banned item from this list, there is a chance the other 99% of merchandise which qualifies for cashback elsewhere will be withheld. Motor bike and stock broking funds being excluded puts me off straight away , and for only 1 year anyway.

The round-up idea probably explains an outlandish claim I was once told.
A guy told me his bank card ignored the pence on each transaction!
He claimed if he bought something for £5.50 he only paid £5 for it!

The idiot was probably paying £6 ..... I suspect the 50p goes to his current account so he thought he had paid £5.50 to the merchant and got the 50p returned to him by his bank?

He wanted to pay his piddly taxi fare by credit card to take advantage of his bank! He lived at the bottom of a cul-de-sac with no phone signal - so we had to drive to high ground to get a signal for the credit card machine or he had to pay cash!

He did not want to pay the extra to get a signal of course ... I cannot remember how we resolved it now.
If I radioed the office with his card number the minimum charge of £10 applied for cards and the money went around the houses before we got it. It was credited to the taxi company rather than the owner of the taxi and the portable machine.

Never picked him up again thankfully.

My favourite credit card was Tandem's introductory offer - no monthly fee and cashback at 0.5%

I put it on Paypal , credited my IG account using it at zero costs and got cashback from Tandem.
I asked them to increase my credit limit and they said it would be reviewed automatically and refuse such requests.
Then they introduceda monthly fee of 6 or 7 quid , so I dumped them.

Santander 123 card gave cash back of 0%,1%, 2%, and 3% but too many 0% to cover the monthly fees - so I moved overto Zero too. At least they gave me a better credit limit than Tandem did. Buying shares today and not paying for them for a month or two feels good.

I used to keep 20 grand in my 123 current account for 3% interest but as the rate dropped I moved quite a bit of that into shares. Dropping the monthly fee from £5 to £4 now means I am in pocket every month. I used to miss out in Feb and Mar when council tax direct debits are inapplicable.

Anybody opened on those Chase accounts? It looks almost too good to be true.

I did the same as you , on Mastercard or Visa , you were charged for cash advances from the day you took the cash until the day it was repaid. By crediting the account in advance, as you say , you were charged for zero days . The other card charged for cash advances irrespective of the balance! Whichever way round it was , for several decades now , both have killed the attraction.

If you are showing losses and someone is in profit how else can you show the profit except by calling it a negative loss?

If your balance is zero, then in a profit report the credits will be positive and the debits negative!!!! Add them to get zero!

In a loss report the opposite applies credits will be negative and debits positive! Add then for zero.

The formula adds 6 factors so signing is imperative to reflect the numbers.

You could change to many more factors e.g.

EBITDA = profit - loss + interest received - interest paid …. Etc

Profit and loss would have to include one or two zeroes between them - and it would be daft!!!!

I have not tried to understand your argument because you are clearly wrong. I suppose Depreciation can also be signed? If part of the inventory contained a painting that cost ordinary money and it proved to be by a master it would Appreciate in value.

I dread to think what the next forecast will be once Truss has screwed the economy. Tax cuts now and even higher inflation is what Rishi said will follow her policy! 16% mortgages a la 1985 are a coming. I remember applying for 13.5% mortgage on my flat, being turned down because the BS did not like central London, and my solicitor advising me he got me another offer but I'd had to deposit £500 in a new savings account. Same interest rate asks I, no 14% , and then another offer at 14.5% without a savings account! Think of it as telephone number says he, you can afford it and you'll never look back (in anger?). It doubled as my pension fund as well as my hotel room but I had to cash out too early when my employer went into administration and left me high and dry with redundancy payment of £1440 (6 years @ £240 Govt min per year).

1,104 liabiillty this year compared to 459 last year's 1st 6 months is reflected in the drop in profits.

to 23% for H1 2022 from 20% at H1 2021 reflecting robust demand and pricing." The liabilities are less than the cash in the bank on both years. Any profit is good nowadays?

I have CASHED OUT my Rishi bet of £2 and got £1.04p for it. About the same return as the current sp would get me on TLOU today? That bet stays for a bit more than £2 - I thought both were certainties. I won't be cashing out here.

Looked at doing a Maytrees telephone order but £40 commission, £37 more than an online buy, was too much for me, Got my 3 trades at 1.775p which will at least register as a buy for once.

Tlou's carbon credit possibilities are on hold! Their partner has abandoned their IPO to enter ASX so Green Hydrogen is not as imminent as I expected, and may not happen at all.
