Whoever it is, you'd have to think it is a vote of confidence in the business irrespective of whether they think AVN will survive 7 years in its current form or not. If they are not confident in the very short term, they could have risked buying us up quickly from the administrator for a bargain price.

Messaged IIL and got a reply within minutes - they cleared the limit bid so I have quite a few more TLOU/AIM shares than I requested on TOU/ASX and I have saved £10 dealing credits,

feeling a bit happier now.

This sounds like the reason for the delay? TLOU could hardly publicise it for fear of alienating some important people in the decision process?

What a crock - despite ASX being closed hours ago they are not showing my limit bid as cancelled yet but shows my trading balance as though it has been.
So I did the FX transaction which went straight through!
BUT a big BUT , they are now not showing anything in my GBP trading account.
Settlement date is 31st - surely they will not hold my money until then??????

Happy days, I get more shares on AIM and have saved £10 commission charge.
They charge me £22.50 a quarter on direct debit towards commission - and that is held separate from my trading balance. I only want to do one or two trades a year so it feels like blackmail. Quite expensive for the benefit of getting dividends from another ASX source. I used those dividends to buy TOU on ASX with TDW who treated the FTSE and ASX the same on charges. I do miss TDW who just used one pot of money for everything.

Hotcopper is a pleasure to use, now see only 52k shares traded yesterday at 11.5 cents and my limit was 11 cents.
It really looked at though the price was 10.5 cents from what I saw on uk sites, including my broker!

Now evaluating whether I should convert AUD$ to GBP (costing FX commission) to save £10 trading charge and see how many AIM shares I'll get.

Big political boxing match ongoing in Bots as BDP struggles to exorcise 10 years of Khama rule. Missing funds from eGov and Petroleum Fund and unnecessary private jets are bad enough - but bringing this BPC dirty laundry into public domain is a scary development. At least the 100mw CBM RFP seems to be going through the PPADB tender process properly.

The final sentence was a relief but I cannot vouch for the poster of course.

I put in a limit bid buy on ASX over the weekend and despite the price being my limit bid the deal has not been done overnight. My broker changed hands so I inherited the current one - I wonder if they come to work in London after the ASX market has closed or were there no shares available? They also charge £20 for foreign markets instead of £10 for FTSE but my real time broker does not allow foreign trades.

Must admit I took my eye off this share for too long - only when Paul Walsh came in a used his own money to buy significant numbers of shares did I believe the turn round was conceivable. That and the ever present statements that the next Hylas was going to work wonders. And the next etc.
But this has more legs than USOP - cannot believe I have put money into companies run by an Irishman and a Welshman - but Australians seem to be more promising for me. USOP is still alive I think but I never bother with that one either. If it happens it happens I have probably peed away more money on alcohol over the years and all that has done is raised the sea levels.

Our share price is not as important to them as long as the company does not prosper.
To whose advantage I don't know - but it would be competitors who'd be behind it.

The Black Horse pub near me changed hands a few years back and was renamed to the Ginger fox.
There were threatened with legal action by a larger company using that Trade name so renamed it to the Golden Fox.
AVN are a much bigger challenge to their competition than that pub was so what would our rivals stoop to?

If were are driven out of business I reckon the assets would appeal to many competitors and instead of offering £1.40 per share th cost could be peanuts.

Everybody knows we are in debt and the share price has collapsed from £7 to 4.49p and that the technology has been near perfect. So do you enjoy being the first 2 assertions over and over again by the same two?

Strong sell at 4.49 per share is crazy advice - the chances are you'll lose 4.49 but if the AVN price recovers it won't be limited to 8.98p for sure! The business simply has to be there it is just a case of when it becomes profitable.
Hopefully in my lifetime and I'll be able to enjoy the fruits. I could move to Africa to save energy bills, and get myself broadband.

the formula in A1 is simply "=1/row()"
then just autofill down column 1 (to row 617 took no time total. Shove autosum in 618 for 7.001274097)
but that gives 1 + 1/2 + 1/3 etc which may have been the original.

The divergence proof we came up with in lecture 2 was
1 + 1/2 + (1/3 + 1/4) + (1/5 + 1/6 + 1/7 + 1/8) etc is greater than
1 + 1/2 + (1/4 +1/4 ) + (1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8) or 1 + 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2

each extra 1/2 plus just takes more numbers .... on a glorified abacus the above is not so obvious?
