Poppy woke me early, so I let her out the bedroom door and she comes back in and sits looking up path. AtBefore 6am I guess a cat or fox must have appeared at the gate so she started barking!

I'd resumed my typing course with just 4 characters per hand and the space bar. Each word is 4 letters long and I achieved 11 words per minute which meant nothing. Hell, a fast typist is 140-160 words per minute? And the minimum is really 40 words per minute. But how long are their words? 4 letter words for me is a good start :O)

Missing words is probably down to thinking them before they have been typed methinks. Just did it above. The glare of the screen dazzles me so I cannot see the keys. I tilt the computer to see the keyboard but not the screen - perhapas having the computer on my belly whilst laying down is my problem :O(

I think predictive text must store words as you go in a short term buffer. It see "long" and the "a" or "ago" and assumes it is a derivative of long - ie. along!
And "leaves" results in "leaving" instead of "leading"?

Members, I have just seen your on topic (really?) analogy of investing and gambling on horses.
All the things you claim to study are totally out of the window once the horse is in the final furlong.
It will win despite its jockey, trainer, price and anything else if it is good enough. I used a similar analogy last week - Sirius are over Beechers for the second time and everything else has pulled up or fallen - we just have to get to the finish to win! One or two of us think we'll get there after nearly falling at Beechers first time round BUT clearing every fence easily since ... hopefully the stock exchange does not have VAR to bankrupt us afterwards.

Just had Andy Murray's doubles on and missed MotoGP qualifiying .... this multi-tasking is too much but my typing of ASDF and JKL; is between 94% and 96% from that course - I'll need a big dictionary to find some words out of that lot!
Never noticed the braille on keys F and J - the starting point for the two forefingers - loving it!

I have never seen the spelling change procedure take place on here but it happens so often.
On Word , I see predictive words appear which need a 'tab' to accept or reject them ....that explains lost words that were never really there for me. The tiny textbox in LSE often means what I typed has scrolled off the top when I use a line feed to end the paragraph so I don't see what it is sending.

Has anybody got the same problem and found a remedy? After 52 years in the computer business I should have learned to touch type - perhaps I'll do it now because the feint letters on the HP keyboard would not matter?

I taped it to see Andy Murray after I'd taken Poppy out, and when I came back we watched the recording.
It amazed me to Coco come back from the 4-1 down when I left, then 5-2 down on the recording and then one set all.
I was getting excited and pleased Andy was not on when the recording announced that the match would continue on another channel ...... grrrrrrrrrrr!
Went over to live coverage and was 5-5 so I saw the end. The BBC are really peeing me off just lately - what is wrong with sticking on a channel to the conclusion? And they are going to charge me a licence when I am too old to stay awake and hear those messages and wonder wtf is going on when I hoped it would be free.

I bet the sp has not changed here since my last post on this CHAT room? Did they use the french spelling perhaps?

Fred, if you do not want to login womanually (manually for me) then use your browser to save your user name and password (usually a pop up, "do you want to save username"). Afterwards, if needed , the browser will autofill username/password for you and you just press 'login' or hit 'enter' (imho, from memory). I don't logout and rarely need to do the above with Firefox and a Windows 10 laptop.

Took Poppy up the rec and told a tennis coach 15yr old 'Coco' Gauff was being murdered 6-3 4-1 by a 28 yr old playing well.
Set the recorder before I went to see Andy Murray/Serena , the following match. Got home and it was 5-5 in the third! Coco went on to win. Horrible for her opponent because the whole of Centre Court were on the 15 yr old side.

What a mix of buys and sells on the trades .... think I'll sit this one out tonight 6.6p and 11.3c on the two platforms plus an iffy rise or fall is not worth losing sleep over. ASX is open 1am to 7am BST and I have been awake at both ends recently. My credit card account and broker have both settled my credit card deposit and it looks like neither has charged me. My 0.5% cashback card could make me some money if I don't milk it hard. Potential Cash cow?
