Of course there is room for solar in our plans. But to suggest this project is virtually dependent upon it is total rubbish!

Once we can afford to install some solar , it will help with maintenance schedules on the CBM plant during daylight, as well as boosting peak requirements during the day at other times. But if it is a short term solution , which it needs to be if it is a major contributor to phase ONE, then every one would be at it and the need for CBM would be for overnight backup to solar!

It may feature in the budget for phase TWO but I think it is not a priority even then.

Believe it or not, I am very cynical and I don't believe in TG easily!
BUT he has never said one word to make me distrust him, and neither has Colm!
I put myself in Colm shoes, and when it seemed like everything was going swimminglt in Botswana funding wise, I imagine how I'd react. I think I'd be knocking on doors and telling my neighbours to buy shares before they are too expensive! Why on earth would you install Solar panels 100 KM away from Serowe if Solar is so important ? Why not buy some land close to Serowe and turn Phase 1 into the simple operation? BDC haven't been in talks for years about the Solar Project or desired a solar PPA with any urgency.

Gas is what this project was founded upon, and still is! If solar is so important to us in the short term, then why aren't there solar energy sites springing up every few months?

I wonder if CC mentioned solar to Thornback , when he tipped him off about this beautiful broadcast?

Looking back to page 3, I see nudes are still in fashion, Thornback's link, the one MM gets 5 ticks on, received only 2 ticks and the first one was mine. Surely it is worthy of many more ticks?

TG clearly stated 100% that phase 1 is only power lines and transformer at the Serowe end for the £3-£5M , and there imho there isn't a chance of there being enough change to build a USB chargers worth of solar energy after they are paid for. Meanwhile CBM is ongoing with water coming out of #4

Phase 2 is also clearly committed to expanding the generation capacity! Gas flows and generators.
Generation is 100% CBM. Solar generator is the Sun! We won't be buying rockets!
Only MM could extract the phrase "more revenue" and turn that from meaning a clumsy "start earning some revenue" into "expanding established solar and cbm revenue"!

I grant you his words do suggest the interest rate will be lower for phase 2 (cheaper) on the back of there being some revenue! So I am expecting the interim PPA to complete during phase 1 funding and available #4 gas to be utilised with a modified generator a la Selemo. If Selemo has any power to spare I wonder if it could be added too?

Thanks Thornback. Nice find and hopping around gives an instant response.
Nothing in that interview has changed my mind - looking for a backer who'll be there for the long term, i.e. expansion after expansion for maybe decades, makes perfect sense.
We are experiencing how long new financiers take to sign up, we don't want repeats every time we open new wells, generators and transmission lines.
And if he wants a very long term partner, he does not not want shareholders to be paying over the odds for ever more!

He also wants a local company to be responsible for installing the power lines because it minimises delays on the workforce due to covid.
A couple of dozen applicants sounds amazing, there will be a few con artists amongst them , so I hope GG will be up to spotting them if the other board members cannot meet them.

Site visits from the other possible backers will also be down to GG I guess.
That is why I am in no hurry to see us committing ourselves quite yet.

BDC is the obvious partner - they will be as keen to see expansions as we are!
Phase 1 is piddly, I reckon TG could finance it out of his own pocket, £3M to £5m , but he is a forward thinker and wants to establish TLOU on a firm basis from the off, that seems clear to me!

So he can sell up at a decent profit? Maybe, but who knows. If he does BTS will be sorted with the rest of us!

Thanks, MM, I see that now. Mind you, getting your money back whilst the sp is still rising is not a very sensible approach. I hope I'm not tempting fate by saying that.

Surely there is only one pool of shares once the issue is closed and punters get their shares?
The 8c / 4.4p are obviously in a separate pool because it is hard to imagine anybody has taken a single one yet.

There is little doubt this interview triggered the rise.
TG confirmed every deluded and mad thought I had prior to the broadcast.
The 8th minute of the broadcast tells us ...

1. Covid - boardroom scattered around the globe and trapped at home.
2. Operations. Desk top work still possible as is maintaining existing dewatering.
3. Progress will be resumed in the field after capital is raised i.e. not now as you'd/I'd expect.

Even Lee Mack would vote true if this was on "would I lie to you".

The on-site visits by rival financiers to BDC , if it does not get it's finger out , still worries me if we are relying on GG to represent the whole caboodle. As does evaluating the tenders and people who want the transmission line contract, unless Mott/M awould oversee that.

To me it is inconceivable that after 10 years of preparation to get where we are, that the future of our company would be risked from interviews over Skype or whatever!
I'd expect TG to visit potential partner's premises to ensure they look up to their promises as African companies, and to make a judgement on them personally. I don't mind waiting for that to be possible - others would risk everything for the sake of what?

Iaam, a drop after/on ex-dividend date is expected on any dividend paying stock.

For newbies to this stock, you'll see there is virtually no discussion on this chatroom. And if you examine the trades which per day which are measured in thousands or tens of thousands, you'll see almost 100% are A (automatic) trades. So the sp is dependent upon the software behind those trades. You'll see a smallish rise, and it will keep on going until the price hits their sell thresholds, and then the trend reverses and there is a run of sales.
I'm sure you can make money, and I have a couple of times, by watching the movements which are so predictable.

I came unstuck at the last dividend, bought in at £16.99 expecting a rise because the 43.7p dividend was official, but the rise never came. I am pretty sure that the software does not take account of news - I think it only follows sp trends generated by itself. My paper loss on the sp (down in the £15's) were nowhere near covered by the dividend of course. So my investment here is trapped. The mystery for me is why the recent surge to over £16 - was there a large buy that triggered it?

I alternate my dividend chasing funds between HL and CBA/ASX , selling at ex-dividend and buying t'other! This time I have watched CBA rise from 63AUD to over 68AUD while HL languished well below £16.99!

So I'll forego the next CBA dividend and keep my HL shares for their next one dividend and save my stamp duty and currency conversion costs :0)

Stamp duty stops me day trading - I hate throwing money away and at HL prices the levy charge is easily reached too.

12 trades overnight ALL at 4.2c but ADVFN does not interpret them as all buys or all sells?
Small numbers with 10,000 being the trade in all but 3 of the transactions. And 7 of those trades appear at the the same two clock times to second, with the other two 27 minutes later? Weird?

There must be some method in the madness , but it must be a different madness to my supposed illness cos I don't see the reason.
The spread only changed by 0.1c all night - I wonder if that was the intention? 4.2c to 4.3c , dropped to 4.1c to 4.2c , answers on a postcard please.

As to solar, I am not sure I care! It must be easier to produce than CBM , but that opens the platform to competition which is not that imminent.
It doesn't hurt to get a PPA for it, but the big earner will be CBM which will be available 24/7 in all weathers and seasons. Botswana and Southern Africa in general love the idea of solar - and TG is considering it because it will be a reality one day - maybe after CBM is up and running.

They don't have definitive flow rates. They are volatile, #4 more reliable than #3 , but they have explained that they are offset from each other where they meet the vertical shaft and the pressures fluctuate like mad, i.e. good and bad results whether the gas goes up the shaft, or into the other channel depending upon the excess water levels in each. The drill itself is dormant , and we'd be paying rental on it, IF Tlou had not purchased it outright!
If you take the initiative and actually read everything TG has said, it all makes sense imho!
I have said it many times, TG has kept up us in the race to be the first CBM supllier of electricity in Botswana. Sekaname may have fallen by the wayside, but we don't hear much from them, a walkover? There are Sekanames all around the world, including the UK, we are very lucky TLOU are not yet included in those numbers. The harder TG works, the luckier we get!

Oh Lord, it is clear TG is anxious to do a deal with the Govt for the future of TLOU. The benefits are obvious.
I reckon he has rejected all sorts of deals e.g. Wonga @ 4000% interest, - who wouldn't want a silly return if TG was mug enough to pay it?

The PPA from BPC was not forthcoming , whether they were trustworthy is dubious, and now their very existence looks iffy imho.
Without that PPA, BDC could not justify lending to us until Moagi/BERA told BPC to get a PPA done under all the clouds from Covid. Covid has hit the diamond industry and tourism for six, so the Govt isn't as flush as they once were - and none of these is due to TG imho.

If you consider that saying they have done nothing is fair, then you are as bad as Donk, Whizz.
I put myself in TG's position, and apart from producing a time-table a few years back (based I believe on the Selemo dewatering timings and Lesedi has proved to be a difference beast) I don't think he has done much wrong. Au contraire, I think the opposite and I have full trust in him.
He repeatedly says he has our shareholder's interest at heart. And his actions are 100% compatible with that. We could be up to 2M shares (4 times the current number) and have Mamba on the go, extra drills being rented and unused, and a boat going up the Swanee carrying huge debts.

He has kept us alive and off life support - I don't comprehend views such as yours!
