Not so! They are generated in Javascript by LSE after the reach your browser! And they are produced selectively i.e. on all the main pages, but not on any pages for personal threads.

I smiled at your "life of a programmer" . Even worse is being freelance! The permies take the credit for what you achieve, and the contractor gets the flack! TLOU management are fantastic comapred to the woman I was dealing with at the client! A household name and a woman whohad slept her way to the top from the accounts I heard! I never got the benefit of her talent, just changes in their technical requiremnts from visit to visit! It was crazy!

If he backtracks on anything it is always for very sensible reasons.
I can only think of one major change - a switch from producing containers of compressed or liquified gas for delivery by road to generating the electricity ourselves and delivering it the grid at Serowe.

Sekaname started with the same idea.
I cannot remember them announcing a switch to poles and wires etc., but it was implicit that they did from their bid for 90Mw+ at proposal stage.
They seem to have failed to get beyond their acceptance as one of two preferred bidders and have apparently bitten the dust!

TLOU tried to provide several timetables for CBM power which they have not met for various reasons , all of which , imho , are not their fault!

TG has been distracted from our immediate goal , largely by those delays but also because alternative plans appeared out of the blue. Hydrogen , Carbon and CBM gas to Orapa! And now Crypto mining!

Ignoring any of them while we wait for dewatering and gas flows , would be a sin!
Hydrogen and Crypto (from solar) can conceivably be live before the poles and wires are ready to use, and, I suspect, the poles and wires will be ready for up to 20Mw (or is it 10Mw?) , long before we get to 10Mw from Lesedi CBM.
We might be able to install solar in the interim.

I fancy all the routes but TG knows which is most likely!
I believe it is Hydrogen! We have the gas , SM need to provide a working prototype , and we need to introduce some solar power! Solar panels might also be needed for Crypto but who'd order them before we hear from SM or have a deal for Crypto mining electricity?????

I am happy TG will make the right decision for all our benefits.
To go full ahead on the initial project puts Hydrogen on a back burner and SM would be well advised to concentrate on Pure Hydrogen, their original plan!

Crypto need us on board or someone else who can promise steady electricity supplies - they might be best advised to find a new solar power site elsewhere too?

I don't think TLOU should dump either for the sake of a few months waiting to see if Hydrogen or Crypto are starters (and therefore Solar power becomes essential ).

What will they achieve in those few months to make it worthwhile?

As for you Moagi , if I wanted to adopt your attitude to the company, I'd be talking about potential famine, diseases , collisions with asteroids , Putin invasions , and anything else that is hardly worth considering until they are more than a few percentage points above 0%!

Crypto Mining

During the quarter the Company held discussions with an international crypto mining organisation to use Tlou's electricity to mine crypto currencies such as Bitcoin. The Company is evaluating the merits of this possibility which could lead to another avenue to generate income from Tlou's gas. The potential exists to generate revenue from this project while the grid connection infrastructure is being built.

The statement surprises me from the "while the grid connection infrastructure is being built." looks short term to me!
So short term than I fully expected us to be limited to SOLAR at MAMBA!
The chances of gas being produced at Mamba in time is absolute zero -273 Kelvin so SOLAR is 100% imho!

My stupid assumption would therefore be that the Crypto concern is thinking of relocating existing equipment or the items are available off the shelf? Long term , they will still be there and maybe gas will be preferable to Solar (or Green Hydrogen which also needs Solar). The Jack and Jill tale contimues to ring true! We do have to climb a hill to get the water though!

Moagi introduced me to the machinations of power lines in my early days, and the story has never changed.

Imho it is stupid, TLOU can go for the cheapest poorest quality lines that BPC will accept , and BPC will pay for their shortcomings! It is akin to paying a fixed fee to a marriage bureau who find the first woman on the street for you within 10 minutes?

(I recall my CTRL/+ yesterday - and tried it here and it works the same! Happy days! I usually drag this box to the maximum and then the cursor jumps around randomly. CTRL/+ expands everything automatically. Old dog, new tricks?)

The prototype, I agree, is earmarked for Lesedi because that was the deal! Gas that is being flared! But once the partnership completes their trial , yesterday's RNS suggests a live operation, fingers crossed, will move to Mamba or die for the time being, and it will be all systems go at Lesedi for CBM power as per the original plan!

It makes sense but there is potentially a problem if the trial is neither successful nor an obvious failure - how long can TLOU tie up Lesedi? SM appear to be going for short timescales which is exactly what we need and probably encouraged TLOU's support!

That support imho is why we are getting no news!!!! We don't want to undermine SM's efforts!

COMPLETED looks pretty good to me! Hydrogen features strongly in our plans, and why wouldn't it? Putting up poles and wires that we will need to maintain against is not that attractive compared to splitting TLOU into 2 or 3 divisions across Mamba and Lesedi!

Vandalism and interference (perhaps fraudulent people connecting to our wires for free electricity when it arrives - 100KM takes a bit of policing - does not turn me on like the rest of you! It will be more dangerous and difficult to patch into live wires surely?
And there is small risk of wild animals causing damage to themselves or the lines - though I was assured there are no elephants anywhere near the planned route. I'll believe that to be true but elephants are capable of travelling long distances!!

Selemo as a Hydrogen plant is non-starter. Selemo will continue to provide site power and Mamba may be reserved, in part, for Hydrogen production.

Electricity to Crypto miner (CM) and/or Gas pipeline to Orapa?
If CM has it own generators then they might need either Hydrogen or Gas - surely it is sensible to consider the possibilities?

TLOU would be mad to ignore them nd leave an opportunity for other companies?

Crypto mining is just another application for the shortage of power, alongside domestic fridges, freezers , cookers , TVs, mowers , vibrators, phone charges etc etc etc! I am unsure why it was mentioned other than Crypto mining takes extraordinary amounts .
IF CRYPTO-MINING PLANT WAS ESTABLISHED IN CENTRAL BOTSWANA NEAR Lesedi, Mamba and Boomslang we have an opportunity to supply all that power without the need for more transmission lines of 100km length without the power losses along the route!

Take a look you'll be amazed how much Mozilla cache? Never let the missus get hold of this because every picture you have viewed is there depending how you manage cache!

I have seen the post quiting the Telegraph article, Moagi's first useful posts.

It explains the current share price though we have not suffered like the established firms.
But every cloud etc reassures me that our low share price is less attractive for a hostile takeover from those whose sp have lost fortunes.

Imho it matters not a jot to us! Our project will still be preferable to filthy coal but twe need to show some urgency in case Botswana have a major change of heart on raw coal use and they win the race. That assumes they will make coal work on new projects of course.
