Hyfligman - is it a good thing, hypothetically speaking, if Jiangxi offered 25p/s and Newmont waved it through, say because a prior agreement has been made between both companies to do a Lundin/BHP Filo tie up?
Add Jiangxi's 6%, Newmont's holding, Valuestone's block, Scott's and Bob's and the majority of the CGP crew plus a chunk of retail who have been averaged in single digits and don't want to miss the boat again. Mustn't be too far off 50% at all.
That means BHP stiffed, Mather burned and retail who wanted 50-70 all on the losing end.
If you've bet the farm at 6-8p in recent weeks, such a quick turnaround is palatable. If you've been holding 5-10yrs ,its a disaster.
What do you think?
